So....

3 years since the leak. Me personally, I can't believe that 3 years has gone past since then. I'm not going to say too much as I'm far from being qualified to air my views. I am surprised that the scene is still here as it is. Yes, many have moved on yet theres still a healthy amount of people participating. Maybe after all whats said and done, this scene is bigger than everyone and anyone, and will simply never die. Like a moving train, we jump aboard and enjoy the ride, and simply jump off again when we've had enough.

no im not surprised at all, when the leak happened (however it happened) we all looked in awe at the S3 released - more to the point the sher quality of them too. but, 3 years later, how many other good quality mfme10.1 dependant layouts have we seen?

leak or not, the community still sees its landslide in releases, that is we sometimes go months without any, and then we get a few turn up in as many days. Ady for example (and many more people) have travelled many miles to get a machine, strip it, scan it, and then spend hours dx`ing it. these layouts being compatible with very early MFME revisions.

According to the members details, ive been on here for some 6 years. Ive seen members come and go and seen members throw their toys out of the pram (bencrest was a classic;)), but we all have our opinions and i think its great we all reply to give our 2p`s worth - even if they are utter poo.

I do hope that the issues are resolved on the forums as the individuals all have contributed and moulded the scene to the way it is now. Ive no great desires to see party time emulated, though of course i would play it if it turned up.

Im just thankfull it still lives and breathes.

Reminds me of the who, what, how, which, when, where and why thread at fruit forums when the leak happened.

3 years on? Huh? Where? Where did they go? Can't be 3 years....Check the calendar, alert the authorities...No wait, that's right, Went to Isle of Wight, first year, went again second year, went to Southend next year, and that brings us here. All adds up.

So I am happy to see after 3 years we are still going strong, maybe not in everyones eyes as we could have had more, or FME wasn't about MPU5, rabbit rabbit....But in my eyes, we are releasing layouts still, old and new, some machines not done, some being converted, resized, new graphics, or a chance for a new Green Badge to take on the challenge. I looked at the latest 5 releases about a week ago and they weren't new of the new machines. They are still coming out thick and fast.

So we have date cutoffs, legal issues, a lack of resources...Yet we are still here? With all these problems you wouldn't think you could sell lemonade outside your house! You'd be wrong with the world of FME, it's where its at! More and more ROMs are being found that can run and make machines that haven't existed, titles from JPM and Project are some examples. We even have the talent of Guitar with us who is trying to code his own emulator, so we can run even more machines such as BWB! There are the number of problems, but he soldiers on fixing bugs I wouldn't have a Sammo* about knowing how and where, much like the last 3 years. Determination for the cause indeed! The layout designers, the contributors, the people who help run the ROMs, make the classics, release them, find artwork for a first DX and release that. If we're not finding new machines, we're working on making everything more accessible for every user to play the layouts. Working on screen sizes, new jackpots, new jackpot graphics, providing lost sound ROMs, the list goes on. Then there are the people who talk about it, keep the word of FME buzzing, provide and keep alive various forums to chat about it.

So 3 years since the leak, we have all of them, We have our problems but we are getting through the lot of them. Epee? Is it here? Is it not? Who cares??? I dont even know how we got here. This is about the leak 3 years ago, and today, 3 years since the leak, and what is happening today. Epee didn't happen for reasons that could be speculated, but the FME scene is still strong. Maybe some faces have changed, but the FME scene is still strong. What once could be seen as a dying scene I find is very much alive like it always has been.

PS. Watch Banzai. Friday, 11:40, Dave.
*Sammo=A clue...My own bit of slang I made up once from an In-joke with a mate

This is a site for EMULATION purposes of older machines. Not playing strategies.
If you are more interested in playing modern machines,
visit Jackpottyforums

(DOND is around now on this site..... How long was this sig out of date...!)

that has gone very quick and a lot of stuff has happened, bought 1st house, made redunant, new job. FME is still here and going well imo but I feel like I've gone through a time vortex three years to the past and on the wrong website.

Geddy, I'm really suprised you're still so fired up about this 3 years after it happened. You really need to let go of it, it's not healthy for you.

The only thing I would like to add is to comment on CW not wanting MPU3/4 (as it was then) to be public domain. He started off selling it with roms for £50 until Barcrest gave him a cease and desist notice.

I only answered the question asked.

Gawd that is farther back than EPEE, can't believe you are still fired up on that. ;)

(Actually DID they give him a CandD or is that just rumour?)
