The spanish rom Geddy posted is mpu5 and it fails to start giving RTC error(real time clock) so I assume it's a non-runner on mfme 10.1 and 9.4.

Whoa....I actually listened when doing A level Spanish, I understood that! (and I would have done also if the thread above didn't say the same thing!)

I think there would be a following for Spanish machines here in the UK. I certainly have played them when I've been across there and they are more accessible than the Dutch ones, so there's a good chance other scene members have as well.

Actually I went into an arcade in Amsterdam once and it was surreal, total silence apart from the odd bleep from the machines, people playing 5 machines at once keeping the start button pressed down by wedging some card into the bottom end of the button......and my mate chucking his cup of Coke from McD's over a machine cos he didn't have a clue what he was doing. As you can expect, we left very quickly after that only to be attacked by a homeless bloke with a polystyrene cup!

oh yeah, several of the machines I've seen in Spain are Barcrest (either MPU4 or MPU5) and Jpm running on IMPACT.

There's another manu similar to Eurocoin that uses reel bands instead of proper reels, don't know what tech those used...

Overall they aren't a bad play

Once you get the hang of them, they aren't bad at all. Most work on the principal that you play the bottom game to earn spins on the top game. The top game being where the good prizes are.

Here's a very small piccy of a game from 'Red Gaming' I played in a town close to Alicante that was quite enjoyable and easy to play, earning me 2 wins of 40Euro's for an initial stake of just 10Euro's and 25 minutes.

The aim of the game is to earn spins to play on the top reels. There are 9 racing cars on the top glass that are dual red and blue lamped. As you play the top reels, you can get red or blue racing cars in the 9 way view window of the reels. These are added to the racing car matrix just like the KEYS on Crazy Fruits but the lit cars stay lit as you continue to play. Get 3 of the same colour cars diagonally, or in any straight line, and you get a go on the red or blue race tracks on the top glass surrounding the 9 way car matrix. The red track has higher value prizes than the blue and it's quite easy to light the cars if you accumulate enough spins.
