Hi All,
A year ago I've purchased a Turbo Reel from Barcrest (MPU4 machine).
This machine is developed for the Dutch market.
Until last week I could play normally without any problems, but now I'm having some difficulties with this machine and I hope you tech guys can help me.
The problem:
When I start the machine/power switch the machine boots up (displaying RESET_ETH DTR) and after the complete boot the machine stands for about 20 seconds in normal modus.
Then the machine resets itself again (displaying RESTET_ETH DTR 6.0) and (this reset is often a couple times after each other) finally the message "Door is open" is presented on the screen.
No door is open at this moment, I checked all the connectors with measurement tools and the connectors are OK.
The only thing I can do at thios moment is wait, because after 20 minutes the machine resets itself automatically and works fine afterwards.
When I power off the machine and power on again no problem occurs.
I think its a loose contact or something on the board and when it warms up the circuits connect to each other.
Is this possible and how can I check this?
I hope you all can help me.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Loogie

I would open up the casing around the MPU4 unit and see how bad the battery leaking is.
If it hasnt leaked, maybe the switch matrix is kaput in some way. if all the connections are ok, its a board problem of some kind.
If its batery damage, post some good piccy's of the board and we'll see how bad it is.

Hello Guitar,
I'll have a look at the battery this week.
Do you perhaps have some pictures of boards where the battery has leaked?
So I can quickly spot if it has leaked or not.
In my opinion all the connectors are oke.
I'll open the board and post some pictures here this week.
Thanks in advance!

Hello Guitar,
Today I opened my machine and looked at the board.
Hereby I'll post some images of my battery.
I think it is needed to replace him, or?
Also I scrubbed with a toothbrush and my machine is now working again, or maybe it only luck today.
I have another queston, I need to replace a slot in front of the machine beneath the buttons.
Therefore I need to take the reels out.
Does someone can explain me how I can do that?
Kind regard,
Loogie

the damage doesnt seem too bad
you are lucky
i'd reccomend replacing the battery as anymore corrosion could be fatal to the board
as for taking the reel out, its just a case of unplugging the wires going to the reels
(take pictures if necessary) and undoing a bolt at the side i think as the reels come out on a braket
not too sure as its been too long since i took apart an MPU4 machine

Yeah, I was very glad to see only a little corrosion.
Is it necessary to do the vinegar bath or not?
I anybody can tell me step by step the removing of the reels and perhaps has some pictures it would be great.
I will disassemble the reals next week when I recieved the slots.
Many thanks for the replies.
