hi folks,

i decided to find out about changing prizes/stakes & percentages and im going to grab them off the bay. adjustable dip switch types, however my machine is the red gaming quake machine.

currently its using a prize stake 30p / £25 jp which i want to set to 5p and £5 is that possible?
on the coin mech i can see stake playable amounts as follows 5p 10p 20p 25p 30p so when i change the adjustable to 5p/£5 what will happen? will the 5p light up then (hopefully) at the moment when pressing change stake button on the fruit machine in play mode allows u to select 10p 20p and 30p play during a game!

also what if i chose £1 play or 50p they arent in the playable list that light up so how does 1 change them? i dont see where you can get those labels from lol?

i can see the % has a strip you can pull round from 70% to 90% only... no 98%? but that isnta problem... does anybody know what you call that % pull around strip?

hope somebody can answer the main 1st question.

thanks,
Spinifex.

Your need to make sure you have the correct decals to change to 5p £5, hopefully your machine will have these in the bottom so you can change over, if not then you cant play on the settings you rqr.

As far as % strip at the top that just a standard % decal from most barcrest gen cabs.

Im not sure if you may also need a program to run a £5 jackpot, again depends on how up to date you program is tbh.

Hope this helps a bit.

as the above poster says you need to first of all get an adjustable stakes and prize key and set it to 10p £5.

if it comes up invalid option then your program isn't up to date and it wll be difficult to get one.

you then will have to change any decals that is needed to be changed and then your done.

a decal is the pictures on the machine that show the symbols/prizes. you can change the stake and prize still if you haven't got any additional decals but you'll have to remember what the jackpot is.

red gaming is mpu 5 tech i think.

the stake's it supports is 5p 10p 20p 25p 30p a play
and prizes £5 £15 £25

just to be clear the decal is just a laminated strip of picture's! no firmware.

and the stake/prize and percentage keys a little plastic squares with changeable dil switches. that plug straight onto the mother board in most cases!

thankyou for speaking in simple plain english lol..

id hate to try and change the decals as im sure youd have to strip everything off it to get to it!
why on earth do they call pictures decals? decals to me sounds alot more technical than a piccy with numbers on it!! from memory i dont think it says on my machine what the jackpot is. tho it might just be on the black sticker top left. on the quake red gaming machine you cant really win £25 jackpot in 1 hit? its jsut 25 is avalable after climbing up throught the other numbers in the middle.. i guess all machines are like that i think 3 red 7's on mine just give you £15 and then you get a chance to get 25.. its a bit strange to me that you cant win the jackpot str8 off the reals? are all machines like that lol

at least this stake adjustable thing will or should force 5p play. thats the main thing.

i guess the percentage will do as its told without a problem!
though i have heard numerous times if your machine isnt capable of such high or low settings it will just error.

thanks,

sounds the same as my "red gaming invincible" its £35 jp, however the highest prize you can see on the decals is 3 red 7's = £10,

although both mega and super "streak"'s give a chance to win £35+

it should say the Jackpot on 1 of the original prize keys.

quite possibly if it will take a £5 jp key, the highest prize the red 7's will be is £3 perhaps for it to tally with the £5 jackpot from the money shots.

Lol, sorry habit of the job, ive never known them as anything else.:D

Most decals are easy to get to and can be moved via sliding them out from the plastic that sticks to the glass.

As far as you being able to update/ change the program via laptop im afraid its not as easy as that, you need new game proms ( chips ) to be blown.

Not even something i do at my workshop yet as for me theres no point.

cheers, amazingly my quake machine allows 5p play and £5 jackpot together! it even let me do 98% aswell. thing is it wont let me do 5p play and £25 jackpot so that means my decals are all over the hockey :-(

im trying a few online retailers that deal in fruit machines and asking them for £5 decals for my machine!? i dont think they will have any or can they be made to order? i dont have a fkin clue what its paying out on the wins.... so i couldnt really tell sum1 to custom make one as i cant tell them what i need. does anybody have a clue where i can get 5p play £5 jp decals from for my machine? red gaming - quake.

i know its old but im annoyed now that i didnt get the sets of decals in the 1st place.
arent machines supposed to come with them or not?

cheers.
any help appreciated on getting the decals.

to be honest matey its a very rare chance, more than likely they have stopped making them for your machine, maybe theres the slightest of chances a £5 jp version of your machine was scrapped by someone and they kept the decals but finding the peron with it is the hard part

cant you just play in freeplay... jot down the amounts paid for each fruits on £5 jp, and stick them onto the glass or on top of the actual decals??

i could yer but as everyone says photocopied or crappy looking really looks shit dont it....
maybe i might have to, liberty games cant help ( who i bought machine from) chris from CMJS cant help and he tried so hard for me too so kudos to him for trying, also emailed barcrest and heard nothing as yet.

emailing the manufacturer is the last resort and even they wont give 2 flying f***s about an old machine.

i dont know about doing a custom one personally, i just want to know if the £5 decals exist, im sure they do im almost 100% certain i saw a black version of my quake on the £5 and not £25. but that was a year ago.

its a right pain in the arse aint it... yer ill have to do freeplay again.. i think its doing £3 on a £5 win and missing bonus's off on small payouts, also any 7's same colour is £5 and so is top win instead of 15 or 25 its 5.

i suppose ill have to go back to 25 if i cant get any decals.

2bh tho mate if its a machine for personal use having stickers wont make it that bad, or even if you cant find decal for your exact machine maybe buy 1 with same win amounts that was from a different machine, then just cut the amounts out and put the onto your decal, wont look as bad then. Or even if you find someone with the £5 jp version of that machine, maybe they can take some piccys and you can print out the win amounts.

from doing research on red gaming machines the £5 jp tend to be:

cherries = 60p
mixed bars = £1
mixed 7's = £1.20
apples = £1.60
pears = £2.00
melons = £2.40
yellow bars = £3.00
blue bars = £3.60
red bars = £4
blue 7's = £4.40
red 7's = £5
super streak = £5-£10
mega streak = £10-£20(ish)

i agree about the manufacturer comment, mainly they deal with major clients who want 20+ machines at new prices, since your machine must be 2006-ish? it would of been well past final production batches so probably like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

even on ebay its becoming rarer to find parts for fruit machines, i remember there used to be 100's of % and stake keys on ebay, now theres barely a handfull :(, because most manufacturers are aiming for the £75+jp market and machines with digital screens

thanks sparky thats some extensive bit of info indeed. i think my machine is a maximum of £5 whatever u do as i set it to 5 max so im sure it cant payout anything more than that witht he adjustable switch!
i think i might be forced to go back to my old switch. 30p 25£... tho i do love the fact i can piss about with it being adjustable.

thanks for info ill see what i can do. dont forget light shines thru the decals so you cant just cut n paste as it were unless i cut off the old £25 decals.

how on earth people make custom decals is bwyond me unless they are using that hp see thru plastic stuff!?

no probs matey :D

hmm im sure it could pay more than £5, my stake key is either 25p/£35jp or 25p/£25jp (cant remember what 1 now), but on streak iv had £50 winnings (£15+£25+£10)

actually yea thats a good point, completely forgot about the lights...oops,

i think for custom decals they use almost the same material as used on the reels however its probably a bit thicker then layered and stuck a few times to prevent cracking

anyways good luck anyways mate with that :D

i think yet again im going to be forced to abandon yet again another modification through no fault of my own. im too limited due to imposed restriction.

about the only bloody thing just about logical within ability of changing is the % and even then my % strip only goes upto 90% no 92 94 96 or 98 so again ive been f***ed over....

anybody wanna buy a red machine rofl

ideally though what usage is the machine generally for? if its being used for public use and profitting then it would matter, otherwise not as much,

red gaming tend to have the best gameplay, which never is predictable, whereas a lot of machines you can almost expect to be "killed" or when your gonna win big (i.e say it offers £8 1st time up, and you lose, after a few more £ maybe it will probably next offer more than £8) but with red 1 min you could end up killed after it offering a few quid, then get up again and be offered jackpot.

im definately thinking of doing the same thing as you and lowering stake/jp to 5 or 10p/£5, maybe then just see if i can get any clear printer paper, the kind where you print, and then peel of on the clear bit, and find a red gaming machine which shows the amouts for £5 jp, print them off at 1/4 of the size and weather i play at the current jp or £5 i'll be able to see both correct prize amounts (bar the top streak notes) on whatever mode i choose to play :D, and hopefully the lights will shine through as well :D

i think as well the payout % strips are pretty much the same type for any machine so they shouldnt be as hard to find

ok m8, its just for personal use anyway, but if its not right its not gonna be much use is it lol.
im a perfectionist so it has to be near 100% correct else its going in the bin lmao

let me know what you manage to do to yours!? mine happily does 5p/£5 where most machines wont and has to be set to 10p then any jp.. (try the mpu5 roms)
