Hi everyone,

Just got our hands on a MayGay Simpsons Duff Beer Guide Machine.

I was working fine and then all of a sudden, Super loud alarm and a message on the screen saying PAY 100P ERR 01

Ive done my research, and found this could be a multitude of things.

  • Stuck coin in hopper
  • Dirty Opto in hopper
  • Fuse blown
  • Duff (never mind the punn) Driver board in hopper.
We cleaned the Opto with no effect. Rotated the Hopper mechanism and a few pound coins went through fine.

Think the fuse was checked - I'll have to get in touch with step-dad to check.

Tried powering on with no coins in the hopper etc... Still no joy.

So i was wondering if any of you guys had an idea of what i can do before i buy a new Driver board (incase it isnt the driver board)

Thanks guys,
;)

Please dont take this the wrong way but are you 100% sure you fully cleaned the opto? i only ask as ive seen ppl cxlean them before and not do it fully hence not allowing the opto to fully see and read.

If it has been cleaned fully does the hopper bed spin in test?

Would be more inclined to say hopper bed fault over hopper driver board.

Best wishes
Stu.

HI thanks for the relpy.

Im pretty sure the opto was cleaned properly.

The hopper does not respond at all when that message is on the screen. Pressing the big red button (even holding the red button) does nothing at all.

The rotating part in the bottom still moves if pushed manually so it is not stuck in that respect.

What you think?

More than likely the power supply unit, this is a common fault when the power supply is failing.

I've got a beer guide, and once a few wire's got in the way when i had removed the hopper, and upon replacing the hopper back on the shelf it was just a couple of mill from connecting properly,so i had to remove it again and slam it back into place! Obviously removing the wire's that we're in the way to. A bad connection could be why the test button isn't working either?

Is the hopper connecting to the wire's (plastic thingy) at the back of the machine okay?

I might have a spare hopper board somewhere, I'll have to have a dig around.

Quick way to test hopper bed would be refill key in, turn and press dump hopper from the cashbox.

Agreed, just check the hopper pushes home fully as above.

Thank you all for your help so far.

I forgot to check this forum for a while and replace a few more parts from spares we got.

I have replaced the driver board for the hopper, the PSU and the MPU.

After replacing the MPU it worked fine for a bit but this is the thing that hit me after checking this thread.

I removed the hopper to put coins in and after rebooting the machine the alarm went off again (which taking out and back again probly made a bad connection on replacement)

So i think you could be right with the hopper not connecting properly.

I will check this tonight and let you know.

Thanks again.
