Hi guys, damn its been a LONG time since ive been on these forums. Just wanted to pop in and say hi and to let you all know im fruit machine free in my life and its great not playing them ! If any of you are in my boat or wanting to get here, then it is possible, if you have people around you that love you and care for you as much as i do you will do it, they are the reason i gave up, i couldnt do it to them losing money all the time, yeah winning jp every now and then was good but i lost more than i won and it wasnt good enough, it had to end, so i did it, i stopped coming here and stopped playing them in real life, now i havent touched one in almost a year (jan 17th), i can even go to the pub watch my mate put loads in and i am able to walk away and not touch them !

There is hope for you that are addicted you just have to take the first step and not put money in them, buy a ps3 game or dare i say it xbox game, take your missus out or spoil your child (if you have one), there are loads you can do with it, you just have to be brave enough !

Take care all

Rob

Congrats on kicking your addiction..i know its not easy ive been there got the t-shirt etc as im sure a load of other people on here will tell you as well..probably about 75% or more of the members on here have struggled with the machines at one point or another in thier lives.

Im not saying this to put you off..because if you can stay away from the machines from the rest of your life then i take my hat off to you..but in my case i can stay away and not touch a fruity for months and months..then temptation will creep up on me and ill find myself having another 'session' and losing a shit load of cash.

I hate myself for it afterwards thinking...arghhhh why am i such a dick..why did i go near them in the first place etc..spose the gambling monster that lives inside us all will never ever go away..but if you try and stay out of temptations way..dont leave the house with cash or banks cards then you should be ok.

Good luck in your quest..you have taken the first steps and hope you keep it that way.
Mmmmmm...Sandy ive 'ad her ye know. :)

Well done mate, My addiction actually ended when i joined here. i found playing them at home on the pc took away about 80% of the urge, so i only had to battle with the rest. luckily for me i was complaining about the £15 jackpots back then. God knows what i would've been moaning about now.

I have an odd flutter with the wife once or twice a year at the casino but NEVER go in arcades to gamble anymore. Mind you the've ruined the scene big time... Oh and also it's much better owning your own fruity and saving in it. thats really what i do now. and dis assemble and re-assemble everything to see how stuff works..

Anywayz Nice one.

What a great post and you should be very proud not a easy thing to do something alot of people cant do or wont do like others have said i have the odd few quid now NOT like i used too for 2 reasons 1 i have other things to spend my money on and 2 its hard to find a fun machine to play in my area i dont mind a few quid on a £5 jackpot but i will NOT waste money on these £70 jackpots unless i have had a few drinks i wish you all the best and total respect to you :notworthy:

well just to update you all, it has now been almost 3 years since playing a fruitie, it don't even bother me when I am out with my mates and they play them. It has been a great relief to quit and I have benefited from it immensely.
