Have recently got very early simpsons machine and need help with fault codes, machine powers up then alarm sounds showing 1.3 20p FAULT,machine is currently empty of all coins, any coins that are put in go straight through with no credit . If it helps it uses the m1a/m1b microprocessor unit. Also the machine has displayed SIMPSONS 2.1 If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

sounds like you have a faulty coin mech.
what type of coin mech is in the machine?

I am told that it has a Mars coin mech & a C435 coin control

it will either be a mars coin mech or a coin controls coin mech.
have a look up where the coins go in and the the mech will say what type it is.

Hi baz, sorry for delay in getting back to you.Have looked at coin mech and found that its a Mars ME126 separator module with another mech above it that has two small circuits to it.Powered the machine up today with back door open {no alarm & no codes}so put some coins in but still does not register credits. Any ideas?????

Nornal game mode...won't play. Demo mode...won't play.
Can't get into test sequence {allthough have tried by using manual from the same Maygay Eastenders machine} still no joy.
nudge pot & Homers pay cheque are not lit {00 & 000}
have changed coin mech...{no difference}
have also put lots of 20p & 1.00 coins in {no difference}
have checked battery...good condition & correct voltage

Does anyone in the Cheltenham area have a spare M1B that i could borrow or buy. I am still trying to sourse the problem with my early Simpsons as mentioned earlier.Cheers Cooperman.
