I'm trying to burn some proms for a Snakes and Ladders awp on Scorp 4,
But on boot up I get the above error, anybody got an idea of what it means?

Not seen it before.

CCTALK protection kicking in.......Which is why no recent S5 machines can be done. Strange though as SnL isn't that new. Maybe you've got some Scorp 5 ROMs, try with some S4 ones.

Mmmm interesting.

Well the game proms were email to me and are said to be SC4,
95410534.LO
95410535.HI
and the sound prom is
95008375.bin

But the thing is I haven't got the machine,
I'm just trying to test the game card before sending out and the only machine I got to test it in is a 'some like it hot' and it has no cctalk stuff in it, it's all parallel

I know some SC4 machines did run cctalk but not most - confused now!!

probably needs a pic chip as well mate.

you have the correct roms as i have just checked.

Getting further,

The machine I'm using did have a cctalk notey loom for JCM (with the little pcb attached)
I disconnect that and no more security error ;-)

BUT now getting PAY UNIT ERROR 1.7 ;-(

So, is it a case of the SnL uses a different hopper to the machine I'm testing the card in?

(it also does the same error 1.7 if I load the rom images into a SC5 layout)

HOW DO I TURN THE GOD DAM SNOW OFF - MY PC IS CRAWLING NOW!

BTW where is the pic on SC4, I can't see one (well one that's removable anyway)

All the cards I have here have the same label over what I assume is a pic/gal and it reads 75585129 IC1

Indeed, and I guess it is that simple in the emulator as well....

yeah its on the gamecard and its the wee one with the sticker over it.(underneath one of the sound chips i think)
