...it if machines went back to giving you lots of £15/£20 "jackpots".. i.e, so the top of the pots was only £15 (even on 50p/£1 play) but they were more like the old machines which you could manipulate (i'm thinking the Vamp It Up's, Neptunes Treasure type games). In other words, you could only get over £15 from a special feature (i.e top of a super board of DOND style game). But these £15 wins would repeat like the old games used to!

I only ask because lots of people (me included) remember the good old games of Psycho's, Vamps, JPM's, machines you could use skill and manipulation on to get jackpots. Those days are gone (at least by game design.. although bugs still get through!). I just wondered whether you prefer those days left behind, or whether you would like to see those types of machines come back... yes you could win £70... but you'd win a lot more £20's....

I'm not sure which side of the fence i sit...

i would say yes, like many others theres more of a chance of yu having a heavy loss off a £70 jp than something with a lower jp,

again like others, once a lot of money has been lost on 1 £70jp machine in 1 sitting it puts the punter off playing em at all, so they are losing customers and the punters that choose not to play em will probably quit gambling

for me i had a £100 loss on a £70jp machine in 1 sitting, and have sworn down from that day i will never play a £70jp machine, and i havent. In fact if i even go to the pub i plan money in advance and make sure i only have enough on me for a certain amount of pints i want so i dont end up being more drunk than i wanted to be and play thoese machines.

with them its no longer the idea of keeping the punter amused for an hour or so knowing full well they will keep buying pints, instead the suppliers know the machines make soooo much profit they can offer the landloard a decent cut of the profit without needing to also hook the punter into buying more pints

First off Welcome to FE. If you see sarky comments don't worry about it all, there's a few of us on here who are miserable as sin and old (a bad combination).

I would quite like to see japanese Pachislots in arcades on a good stake/JP. Think there already are some 2p ones, but it would be fun to see some with a 10p Play/ £1.50 max reel prize, but the bonus games will run for £40 or so. It would work on a Party Time basis. Unless some changes are made to credits being taken on bonus games and that, I doubt it would catch on:sad:
