Hi,
First post for me and I'm asking for a bit of help working something out that's driving me mad!
I know LOTR - Fellowship of the rings 10p play / £5 JP is an old machine, but I cannot work out how the number climb works.
The reels have numbers, as normal, but let's say you get a 1 on the left reel and a 3 on the right... it doesn't always mean that you get 4 number climbs on hold or when they drop in the win line (I think).
Maybe the 1 will work, but holding the 3 doesn't advance anymore...
I just cannot work out what makes the numbers 'valid' to be included in the climb, just seems totally random.
I've looked at things every which way during play, and I can't work it out. Can anyone shed some light on this?
I'd also like to play this machine on emu, so if anyone has a link?...
Cheers,
Ed.

Numbers on the winlines should climb the trail. Are all the numbers on the winline adding to the trail? If not, it's best you tell us which reels don't add numbers that are on the winline, because the reel optos might be reading the wrong symbol

Will do, the wins pay fine - so are there different optos for wins and numbers etc?
I'm sure it's random, rather than certain reels. Just doesn't make sense.
Thought I was missing something in the game, but doesn't look like it. In the meantime, would like to play this one (the 10p version) on emu if anyone can post a link.
Would faulty number climb effect patterns and payouts?

If the wins pay fine but the numbers don't, then maybe you're clocking where they appear wrong?
Are you thinking all numbers IN VIEW should add to the trail? Because its only numbers on the payline that do.
There aren't different optos for fruits and numbers, basically the reels all have 16 figures on them, and the machine knows that figure 1 is a bell, or figure 6 is a cherry with a 1 or something.

I think i know what you mean your reffering to the hi/lo reels, when your on the cash stack you go higher than a 1 and get a 3 the trail will move up how many positions the dice is on the number 3 only not both reels:).

No I think he's talking about the fruit reels because he's mentioning the holds and Reel 1 and Reel 3 etc. Still, hope he replies soon so we can sort it all out:)
