I'm sure most of you have played 1000s of machines in your local pub or arcade but what was the very first fruit machine you ever played. (real not emulated)

Post pics of the machine if you like.

Mine was golden x. I can't find a pic though :(

The first fruit machine I ever played was Downtown, which I think is a BFM machine (shame it hasn't been emulated).

It was in our local bowling alley with a mate and was £6 jackpot tokens. I only had a few 20p pieces left and didn't know what I was doing. I remember it so vividly, I got on the board and collected Mystery Wallet and it gave me £5.20 tokens. I even asked at the desk if I could change them up for cash, but obviously couldn't, but I didn't know that!

Since then, I've lost loads down the years. In the early days, I was naive and thought that I had the lucky touch based on my first experience.

Jesus, if only I hadn't won anything on that first time, I might have saved thousands by now, damn it!!!!!!!!!

I assume you mean the old MPU3 Barcrest one,

That was my first too. In a golf club with my old man. Got 8 nudges, 4 melons £16 I think.
It paid out in 50p pieces.

First AWP in a pub was JPM crazy streak on £3 jp. I'd love to see a remake of that machine

Well I was introduced to fruit machines by my Grandmother who had a strong addiction for them. My first memories are of 1 quid JP's Noble machines, JPM's Lucky Arrows, Pool Play, The Pounder. Old Ace machines with huge chunky buttons.

Once the 2 quid JP's came out, I was truly addicted, and with JP's that small, and plenty of other distractions in the arcades of the time, losses where not big, and days out on a fiver where easy.

Ho hum for progress

Pimp.
