If your refering to the little LCD ( SEC ) meter , where did you get the replacement from as you cant just put one in from anywhere it has to be clear or at least from the same make of machine.
best bet is to buy a new SEC meter if thats what your refering to.

It could be something else of course but it IS generally the meter failed.
Like i have already explained if its a SEC digital meter it has to be clear or they wont work
if sure baz can back me up on this on the fact you cant just swap SEC meters around from machine to machine.... at the very least they have to be same manu.
PS i have had the same problem off ebay them selling "new" meters that are not brand new......

You don't say what machine you have,
I'm assuming EPOCH or Eclipse,
in both cases if the meter looks like it's working - digits come on the LCD - I would say it’s the loom,
Vast majority of cases I've seen on global's is down to 'flat' crimps in the plugs connecting to the meter/board.
You have to take the crimps out and un-flatten it, fiddly job but works most of the time
Or if it's epoch - had loads of boards with bad battery also cause it.
As has been mentioned above some machines don't like having the meter changed and will alarm.
Those cheap ones on eBay have actually been 'rolled over' and have used lots of them before on most machines without a problem, only case I can think when they didn't work was on an Astra B3 machine (this was also confirmed by the seller).
I did look into this, and according to the manual for the meter there is a flag that gets set to tell the machine that the meter has 'rolled over' - Astra machines will alarm at seeing this but most AWP do not - globals defo don't (not tried one on a up to date £70 machine)
