What is it?

The Fruit-Emu Site Monitor is a small windows program which runs in the system tray on your PC and continually monitors your favourite FME site. Whenever a new download or news article is added to the site or a post is made in the forums an 'MSN Messenger' style pop-up will appear on your screen as below :

[align=center:e36ab2ebd3]Posted Image[/align:e36ab2ebd3]

As well as a pop-up notification the site monitor icon in the system tray will also flash. Useful if you miss one of the pop-ups.

What features can I control?

You can :

Set the site monitor to start automatically with windows.
Change how often the site is queried for changes (between 2 and 60 mins)
Attach a sound to the pop-up message
Change the theme of monitor (5 available)

Does it have spyware in it?

Most definitely not! It is a simple .exe file with two icon files which will connect to the fruit-emu server much like a web browser.

Can I uninstall it if I don't like it?

Yes it comes with an uninstall program or you can simply delete the directory you installed it in. It does not change any windows files as the install merely copies 3 files into your install directory of choice.

Where can I get it!

Get it here

I've just uploaded a new version which includes a few bug fixes. Try this one Maxpower if it doesn't work either then can you let me know what operating system you are using and which firewall.

- The MSN pop up links are now clickable and will take you straight to the correct page of the site.

Ady, try shutting it down by right clicking it within the system tray and choosing exit. Then extract the setup.ini file within the attached ZIP into the directory where you installed the monitor. Then start the program again and see if it works. If it doesn't I need to know at what point you get the error and if you have a firewall installed.

Hate to be the first to moan, but anyway you can make it open new browser windows?

Losing my current page is annoying :)

But apart from that its genius! Well done Duplu!

I apologise for my awful username and previous posts from 13 years ago. I was a misguided chav.

Exit the site monitor by RIGHT clicking the icon in the system tray and choosing exit. Now go to the directory where you installed the monitor and remove all the files except those ending .ico and the one ending .exe.

Now re-run the monitor and it will create the necessary files again.

Did you install the software in the default directory?
