"It is with great pleasure Mike has done an exclusive layout for this site.(Fcukedworld) Please do not host this layout on any forum or website until 20th April 2004 as it is a special release for this site only.
Now onto the review...
This is the £6 token version of Luxor and I can honestly say is the best layout that I have ever played in terms of graphically work and presentation. If you thought Monopoly Club was good, that has been totally dead and buried with this layout.
The game play is as you would expect from one of the great machines of yesterday. A good play for your money with a very good feature board offering some varied yet fun features. The presentation of this version of Luxor is outstanding. The picture above does this no justice, but I have never seen an nudge box looking so good as this and equally the only alpha that comes near to this one is one that Andy did for his Donkey Kong. The lamping is superb on this layout, the mazes look stunningly good while everything else just glows with an amazing polish. This really does look like the actual machine.
The cabinet is also excellent looking, it has sunken buttons that look outstanding when lit. This DX also features Mike's "mouseplay" on the left hand side. I have only hidden that for the snapshot to show the most machine that I can within the limitations of space that I have due to PHP themes. I believe looking at this that every possible lamp has been used as well, from the jewel's around the number to the flashing Luxor title that in itself looks amazingly well done.
If Carlsberg made layouts, they'd have made this one. Thank you Mike, this really is your best yet. I am going out on a limb here that will probably snap, but I don't believe that even you can better this!"
Can only be obtained at www.fcukedworld.com until 20th April, new visitors will need to register, but it only takes a minute to do

Bloody typical, one of the best, if not THE best layout to come out this year, and noone bothers to reply to the release thread
Oh well, at least I am replying
Only thing [and it isn't a problem, just a thing] that I have with the layout is the weird angle of the reels....but thats only a minor thing, and I could change that on this layout myself [if its unlocked]
Hope to see more works like this from you, they are well worth the wait!

Glad you like it BB!.
The reels are always a tough decision when creating layouts of the perspective kind, do you go for perspective reelholders or flat, straight ones?, I prefer the perspective to be true, but it brings with it a unique problem, it's an emulator issue unfortunately, there's no tolerance threshold for anti aliasing of the transparency mask, it's either on or off, so jaggies will appear between the mask and the reels, I wish it weren't so, maybe a future emulator release will overcome it.
It's only a minor issue and when you compare the emulator now to as it was a couple of years ago (no smooth scrolling, no backlit reels, no reel mask) you realise how far the emulator has actually developed!
