This is what I did, as I was having the same trouble:

1. Go into My Computer, double-click C:Drive, and then create a new folder in there, renaming it: BFMRAM

2. Open the BFMRAM file you have just created, and make a new folder in there, and name that CCNR (Club Cops N Robbers).

3. Close the files, and open the Emulator (v1.8 or v1.9), and click on "Advanced" on the top menu bar. Then click on "Emulator Settings".

4. You want to be on the MPU Cartridges folder and at the bottom, you will see "Save Ram Files To". Type the following in the box:

c:BFMRAMCCNR

5. "Apply" and then "OK" it and close the box. Load up the layout Club Cops N Robbers. Initially you will have the Ram Error occur once, but when you want to load the game again, always click on ADVANCED, EMULATION SETTINGS, MPU CARTRIDGES, and click at the side of Save Ram Files To: then APPLY & OK it, close this down and load Club Cops N Robbers again, and it should not start your Ram file from new.

I have done this with my BFM layouts, and I have had no trouble with them since.

Longwinded reply to your thread, but I hope it helps

If you read the Helpful Documents, Tutorials, BFMulator this explains with pictures exactly what you need to do (note the RAM has to have a '' at the end)

An easy way to do this is to copy any BFM ram file, then open cops and robbers file or any BFM game with missing ram and paste into the file.
When you open the game it will come up with memory error ignore this set the pot values play a £1, close the game down. When you load it back up and the pots should be saved.

Good Luck.
