howcome this technology can not be emulated.
This is because it is current tech and is still is use by manafactures. Manafactaures would not take to kindly to MPU5 being emulated as it is still in use and is still widly used by a lot of manafactures. Even when they move on to another tech then it still would not be emulated for a few years after.
and howcome you manage to get all the information for the roms?
This is because its a current tech and there are lots of resources avalible for current techs as they are current
Hope this clears things up

the egg came first.. some scientific explaination.

Probably the egg, a dinosaur or summat like a lizard probably evolved into chickens so it had to lay eggs before the chicken evolved, so my guess is the egg

So what is the reason then g-man.......Except for the fact the emulators arn't released

Probably that the ROMs are encrypted, and noones really attempted to make one yet seeing as how nobody really wants MPU5 emulated anyway
Well...I wouldn't mind if it were emulated, but I would mind if it wasn't.

its not been emulated - because nobody had emulated it yet.
it is possible - but if it was done you could very easily end up with a litigation battle as did BLEEM! the psx emulator and gamecubes emulator which is in touble now.
MPU5 will be emulated when a group of peeps like us get togeather and emulate it. But emulator dont happen over night. - do they??
be patient and watch the news. you'll see it begining within the next 12 months.

Wasn't there an MPU5 emulator in use on the Barcrest website several months ago? If I remember correctly, the emulator was used to test ideas for new games without the expense of the manufacturers actually building the machine to find out if it will perform correctly.

Yes that's right,there are MPU5 emulators,they just aren't publicly available.
I'm sure Barcrest and Red et al have them.
I wasn't trying to sound mysterious, just pointing out that respect for current tech is *not* a reason for there being a lack of an MPU5 emu(Impact anyone?).
It's very possible that there is a private MPU5 emu floating around and no one is publicising it,but it's more likely that no one outside the industry has managed to crack it(and let's face, there aren't exactly many with the means or ability who could attempt it).

which came first the dinosaur or the egg?
always has to be the dinosaur, before any creature became advanced enough to reproduce via an egg they must have reproduced the same as the simpliest of cells by spliting and multiplying. You can't possibly have an egg without a creature first but you can have a creature without an egg. Without a creature how can you fertilize the egg? the mind boggles

I don't usually check here, but stumbled across this thread. The picture of "emulator" on Red's site is not in fact an emulator, but a "simulator" (as they state on there).
The manus would have little use for an emulator for 2 reasons... Firstly, they can hook the physical hardware up to a PC and download the roms to the hardware directly (meaning they don't need to waste EPROMS - in any case these are easily erased, so no problem there), but furthermore with the source code to the games, you simply link your code in to the simulation libraries instead of the electronics control libraries to get a simulated machine.
Hope that makes sense.

Still new to this type of thing but if it was emulated, what machines would we be able to play on them?
