hey everyone,

NOTE: my punctuation skills suck so ignore that :) (if you can... hehe)

Before i ask my questions I think it is only right to thank all the layout creators for bringing some of the best fruitys to the PC

Onto the questions.... (FYI.. I'm building a fruit machine style panel for a friend which will work with MFME)

1: Is it possible to control an LED board (ie.. PacDrive) to light the buttons to indicate holds/start/collect/attract mode etc based on the MFME LEDs?

2: When MFME triggers the payout can this value be read from memory (ideally to save this value to a text file or send to a printer) - since i'm knocking up a frontend launcher that will go fullscreen for the machines i'd like to be able to access coins out (can track coin in on keypress) to knock up a high score system for him?

3: Since there will most likely be a screen on the panel I was wondering how you add multiple Dot Alpha Displays so i can put one on the other screen for skill continues etc...?

4: I can code a background application to allow him to have competitions (ie.. timed, how much you win in £5 credit type things) but is there any way to ensure that when the machine is launched there are no credits or bank already present as I have noticed a few machines seem to store these if MFME is shutdown?

Finally :)

5: Can MFME be set to dump error logs if an alarm triggers... command line maybe?

My way of thinking on some of the questions is to create something similar to a PC game trainer that can run in the background but i'll need to look into that so any help/advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks :)

No answers yet :) not a prob as i'm sure someone will come along with some ideas :)

The plan has changed slightly from being just a panel to build a full fruit machine (cost has jumped) so when I start getting the parts i'll maybe knock up a site documenting it (for anyone interested) :)

I've created the frontend software and got the machines to run full screen (i've attached some pics for the 1600 frontend, 1280 is the same but diff screen res)

EDIT: as you can see I like the hyperspin style layout and if I can get the coin out to track I'll put a top 5 leaderboard in the top left corner :) images are compressed slightly

Attached File  frontend_eliminator.jpg   57.9KB   42 downloadsAttached File  frontend_golden_grid.jpg   64.11KB   49 downloadsAttached File  frontend_excalibur.jpg   59.28KB   48 downloads

Here is a rough concept pic of the cabinet layout

Attached File  idea.jpg   50.58KB   39 downloads

The software side of it is pretty much complete and will just need some tweaks to work on the multi monitor setup so it's just really the areas in my questions above that i've hit a roadblock.

If you have any thoughts/ideas/improvements on the concept let me know and if you can offer any help on the questions in post 1 i'd appreciate it

Cheers

You could just go the whole way and add one of these
http://www.aardvark....techdetails.htm

And (somehow) get the emu to talk to it,
then you got one machine playing 1000's of old fruit machine games that will actually accept coins and payout

Be totally illegal though, :policeman:

but just a thought :)

I have looked at CCTalk compatable stuff before for a kiosk system I built....having been a gambler before/banruptcy/house loss etc... this system will be for fun only... been there and done that but the flashing lights still draw me in :)

Myself and a friend can play tenner in how much out comps on our puggies with a few beers and have a great laugh (as long as the girlfriends dont complain :)) so I just want to give us more options :)
