when using chdman click start menu then run then type cmd
once command prompt opens type
chdir [put path to chdman here]
then type
chdman.exe -verify [& put rom name] then press enter
should look something like this
this is when i change directory
C:\Documents and Settings\d0uga1>chdir C:\Documents and Settings\d0uga1\desktop\chdman test folder
this is when i run chdman and get it to verify the rom file simpbowl(simpsons bowling)
C:\Documents and Settings\d0uga1\desktop\chdman test folder>chdman.exe -verify simpbowl.chd
it will verify the the chd file and tell you if its a working chd.
if you just type chdman.exe after youve change directory in command prompt it will give a list of what you can do with chdman.
hope this helps.
i do know that you have to put the chd in its own folder within the roms directory and also have a rom file of the same game zipped in the roms directory.
also make sure you have the all the bios files in your rom directory.
if your using mame32 (or MameUI32) click the tab on the left hand side of mame that says HardDisk or chd (not too sure which) then doubleclick the game name your trying to play (even if the game is not there (it should be in the tab that says available).) so that you get the missing rom file error and it should say whats missing then check it on google to see what files missing then look for a download of it.
