Now if you have ever been to a pinball emulation site like vpforums you would have noticed that a big trend is that people are build pinball cabinets or "Cabs". This is essentially the cabinet of a pinball machine with a tv where the playfield would go. This setup makes the emulations pinball tables on the vpforums website to feel like playing a real table with working flipper buttons and plungers that read how far you pulled back electronically and the ability to nudge or bump the Cab and have it affect the ball just like with a real pinball (and for anyone who doesnt play pinball nudging a pinball is not the same as nudging a fruit machine, it involves phisically pushing the machine to change ball direction slightly). The same has been done for old arcade style video games like pacman ect know as video game cabs. Does this mean it would be possible to build a fruit machine cab? And to use the emulators and emulations on this site to play these fruit machines. Because there is a clear benifit that you can have multiple machines in the space of one and have it cost less than buying several fruities. Just a thought of mine. So could it be possible? Has it been done? And how would one go about it? Also are the DX layouts high enough resolution not to look horrible on the big screens? Sorry for all the questions but this could be a good idea. B)

its a weird one

but the emulators arent very tweakable in means of GUI
the only option we have to tweak GUI is to edit the layout or to maximise the window
or play in mfme 3.2 & rescale

i'd of though haveing them at low resoloution & making the gfx roatte clockwise 90 degrees should do it as some people do it on their laptops if they cant lay some of the larger releases

but if you do it wouldnt be as effective as you could only play one layout & hope that it fits nicely

would be interesting to see it put into practice

but it would require some knowhow and might be worth using a touchscreen for the bottom half or a way to make the buttons work as keys on keyboard

well as far as the keys its extremely simple

this method has been used for all manner of cabinets but you can take the phisical buttons of the cab and hack them to a keyboard as simple as that just a little solder and wires and ur good to go causing no real need for a touchscreen so long as you only play tables with shortcuts on keys instead of mouse clicks

as for the rest of what yu said im a little fuzzy

could you try to clean up your explanation because the jubledness of it is a little confusing

thanks a million!

anyone else reading this want to give their two cents? it would be very helpful because this could very well be the future of fruit machine emulation

i see, as for the buttons i wasnt sure if it was an easy job or no

for everything else, i cant simplyfy it

basically you'll have to have the image rotated 90 degrees (like the pinmame tables) & seeing as mfme cant go full screen you will have to have layouts at a certain resoloution so they fit nicely

cant say for sure what resouloution as it all depends how you go about doing it

completely understood and thanks for the help

i guess the future will go without fruit machine cabs

maybe its for the best as they may try to take over the world one day

but still it would be pretty could if someone did it

i wish i wasnt so busy then i might be that one

if anyone MANAGES TO DO IT I WILL WORSHIP THE GROUND THEY STEP ON SO LONG AS THEY TELL ME HOW TO DO IT :notworthy:
