Well where else are you going to go for an arcade that does free fried chicken?
In short, the end result was the same, Skint...But! The machines played a lot better, or at least I caught them at a better time. It took me 6 and a half hours to lose all my money and had great results!
Joining me today were the magnificent BRUCEGEORGE and SUPER7! Had a right old laugh, both really really nice guys who enjoy a gamble. As usual, Dave was there giving out hints and being a huge support for resources as usual, supplying more bits and pieces for scanning/photos!
So anyway...The day. The machines and how they played...I'll do my best to remember what happened.
Got in, went straight to RICOCHET! While Bruce was getting a decent sum of money out of something(I'll leave him to add his bit in later, he knows more than I do about what he went on but I will say one thing...WATCH OUT! IT'S THE MAFIA!!!!) Anyway, Ricochet. Took 3 to board, but straight onto the bigmoney. Went for £8! Nice beginning I thought! Next, onto Money Money Money which did a bar roll in last press and got £2 off the yellow ring. Not too bad! Bit of dabbling here and there left me quite up for the start. I knew I was going skint though...but it would be such a good day, with more funds. So then I decide to do my £2 freeplay. After a random machine shoutout, £4 goes into Five Liner. Good choice! It went nuts! Spun in about £3s worth of wins happily...And then, Rolled in the £4.80 Jackpot! Then straight after £2, then £1.20. Left it with 10.20, very nice result!
A bit more playing various JPMs and Maygays, Coronation Street gave £4 repeater, Big Breakfast gave Whose Line is it??? and then 1.60(though annoyingly I missed Winning Spins) to get £4 out. Bruce was getting chucked out, having his car scrapped, getting a wheel clamped(thought he had it scrapped!) on Eastenders, nearly got a prize but not quite!
Back onto Money Money Money, got on the board as normal...then "You want anything from the Chicken shop?" Had to say yes! order placed, and a £2 bank again...Onto Andy's Great Escape, Flo got ahead of me so I decided to take a reel match feature which i MISSED! Ended up walking away before excersing my skills on Skill Fill.(Carry on Joker) Not too brilliant though, only got 1.20, but it's all practise. Went onto Winner Takes All for a LOTTERY CARD! Drew the worst ball number 2, and I got 40p repeater! Went to a massive 80p, great for the top of a trail!!! Donkey Kong eat your heart out.
By this time the smell of chicken had come into the arcade, so I put one more quid in Maverick for 3 back, and Dave handed me a box of cried chicken and complimentary coke...What's better, the chicken pieces were both drumsticks! Got to be something right there!
Went to the Mayay side of the arcade, and played Coronation Street again, got Rovers Return for £5, Hotpots I got £5 nudge in...Fruit Explosion giving plenty of boards, as was Money Money Money. Jackpotted Pink Panther as well! Still, it had to come to an end one day. I lost quite a bit in Big Bucks, and Monopoly 60th, and in the end my pounds were gone!
Changed up another £10, this didn't last TOO long, but still, started OK. Got £3 from Frank N Stein, and got £3 from Force Ten. Decided to take a quick break and watch Bruce and Super7 on the machines, then went on SIMPSONS. Got my SKILL JACKPOT OF THE DAY!!! on Itchy and Scratchy, and got it up to £1 on the restart.(going faster here) Put about 6 in Along the Prom for a Spa Style gamble up the cashladder to blue 7s which didn't repeat. Money starting to go down again...Popeye was £3 in for £3 out, then BOOM. All goes pear shaped on a Snakes and Ladders which takes all of my coins AGAIN! for no board. Super7 took on the challenge to try and sort me out, wasn't worth it in the end, because it just would not give a board! And when it did, we couldn't win too much from it. In the end he got a top but ended up about 10 down himself, at least.
Changed up my other £10, and it goes a little mad now...Still lose it all but I had a great day, and had some good wins in this £10...
Cluedo, £4 in for Jackpot, then £3 repeated on Force Ten, THEN...£6 off Riverboat Gamble feature on Magnificent 7s! isn't it great not having to have one shot knowing itll be a pound or the lowest amount! Couldn't lose! To a point that was. Trivial Pursuit streaked as well for me. £5, then Jackpot repeat which was also a fiver, but sucked 6 for the next dead board. Still, an OK profit. Lost all of this on Frank n Stein of all things! That, plus some JPMs and some 4 in 2 out play. Left at half 5 with empty wallet, Bruce with a black bag full of treasures and me with 40 minutes of filming for you to enjoy later!
So apart from the gambling, anything else of interest? Well, we got some pictures of machines to work from, and some more bits and pieces. Chicken, Coke, all on the house, chatting with Dave about machines in general, the arcade, plans, bad mobile networks, it's generally just such a nice atmosphere and he treats everyone fairly, unlike other arcades! Make sure you pay a visit if you haven't yet!

As Crazybar said it was a great day!! Had a few good runs such as Viva Las Vegas- £55, Big Breakfast- £35 went on some mad streak what keeps rolling jackpot in, Andys Great Escape- £20, Monopoly- £18 & loads of jackpots on different machines you can tell by the game play of the machines they are all set on higher payouts ( 82% min ). Also bought a MINT Viva Las Vegas off Dave for a good price to go next to my Bear Streak, also met BruceGeorge for the 1st time he's a top bloke, will be making my next trip as normal real soon!! ;) ;) ( Forgot to say left £40 up aswell, bonus!! )

Thanks guys!!

I really enjoyed myself too, shame i am not allowed to play (house rules)! I had a good punt at home that night i can tell you, needed my gaming fix!

Was lovely to see the Viva Las Vegas do that, nice run!

Big Breakfast was nice to see again, last time i saw the mad run like that was in my previous place.

I just returned home from spending almost the day repairing On the Buses...NUMEROUS issues.

A HUGE THANK YOU goes to Hit The Six for sourcing the roms i needed. Also Captain Haddock for sourcing the Sunday Sport roms! :notworthy:

Easter opening times are normal BUT please be aware that we are NOT allowed to open Bank Holiday's at the moment.

I would of never have got planning permission otherwise. However an application is now underway to extend our opening times and to lift the Bank Holiday restriction. We had to apply 'in-line' with the conservation area.

Any questions just PM me, and i will get back to you.

Crazybar and Bruce it was fantastic to see you both,

Speak to you all soon!

Dave ;)

Sounds like you had good fun. I will be popping down to have a play and grab some ROM dumps if Dave is ok with that.

A shame I missed this one, was hoping to pop down.

Crazybar - Trivial Pursuit streak doesnt usually involve JP's. Did it turn red at all? That's where the real streak is, it'll turn red every board for about a fiver, and lots of boards, have had between £18 and £43 for the streak on TP.

ermmm what happened...I can't remember how I got the first JP! But I did, no repeat chance for this one. Got a board next pound, didn't go red or anything but got enough bits to get to the end and BIG MONEY! £1...I thought oh dear....then had one more shot and got Bigmoney and it gave £5 repeated! £6 for next board that gave nothing.

Sounds like you had a good time. 82% payout! They play so much better with higher payouts. I'm sure it would be in the manufacturer's long term interest to make this the minimum setting.

Guitar :

NO PROB mate! Dump as many roms as you like.

I said before, ALL MACHINES are available to be photographed, roms dumped, flyers/manuals borrowed where possible etc. No issue at all.

FAO: Matt Vinyl
Sadly, due to silly licencing conditions i cannot open Bank Holidays....however i am really trying to get this overturned by Easter. It is just a formality, no issue, was just a planning thing initially. I guess we had to 'PROVE' ourselves before we got the hours.

Will keep you posted, will be on the phone to them tomorrow.

Anyway,

I have seen the Trivial Pursuit go red for ages, not sure how much it went for but the chap who plays it had a VERY GOOD run. Was a couple of weeks ago now. Heard it drop before Crazy bar played it. So gets well played. Would love to see a £40+ run!

When they are full, they are FULL. No skanky refloats in our place i can assure you. I don't agree with it. If your £20-£30 into a game and it has not dropped, at least you can say fair enough, someone beat me to it. When it drops, you SHOULD be in for a good time!

Anyone coming down, say hello, nice to put names to faces!!

All the best,

Dave

Is it ok to check the tubes Dave ? ( never thought i'd say that again )

I remember when the Ace machines were out ( Play it again,Open the box ect ) our local arcade owner got a bit pi$$ed off with us lot checking the tubes before deciding if it was worth playing, so he stuck a bit paper over the tubes .

I'll never forget what he actually wrote on that bit of paper. It said " PEEK-A-BOO "

Classic bam-up really !

TUBES !!!

You do get some classic bam-ups like that about...Like people checking cashboxes on other machines, in Great Yarmouth apparently they have some covered with a sign saying "F**k off back to Hemsby!"

Are you open tomorrow or Monday? I'm shut tomorrow and Monday so perfect days to pop down for a quick peek.

Also Captain Haddock for sourcing the Sunday Sport roms! :notworthy:

Are these non-data pack Sunday Sport ROMs? I was toying with this in FMEF and ended up with datapack roms.

Ha ha lol!

I would be lying if i said i never 'checked the tubes'!

Believe it or not, but an arcade in Camber had gone to the effort of putting stacked coins PHOTOs around the tubes. To be honest it fooled me until i put a pound in and it went....woooooooo ....all the way to the bottom of the tube. NICE!

I cant blame them. The thing is, same as in my place, people bank up. They will put whatever it takes to achieve a bank limit. So personally, i have always played machines and read the game rather than the tube.

We all know JPM's number, we all know if its holding etc so i have not covered any tubes. Well, actually Roller Coaster has some yellow tape around it as its two tubes joined as it kicks out big money (as we all know) and people used to bank it up so this is just an increased float.

Before someone tries barring it (lol) its SUPER pinned!

Anyway,

I will be uploading my Sunday Sport roms i have, VERSION 2.0 they are £8 token roms. I dont what to do with it. I have finally got it working, but im out of room. Not sure whether to sell it.

Happy Easter everyone,

If anyone is coming down then we are closed Easter Monday too (sorry) open tomorrow Saturday 3rd 9am - 6pm as usual.

Begged the council to speed things up....no win.

Speak soon,

Dave
