Hi all..
Can anyone please help? I have a Hot Shots £500 machine that has suddenly started alarming every time I switch it on. The screen shows "Error code 16 MPU error: USB comms failure" & the status lights on the MPU5 flash green 3 times, then red 16 times..
Have replaced the USB cable from the PC to the MPU5 but this did nothing!

Why and how have you managed to attach a USB cable to a fruit machine MPU board?
because its a section 16 or b3 machine with a pc installed just like cashino and rainbow riches.
i would assume you pc has developed a fault as its giving a usb error.
the first thing i would do it try another mpu5 board as these can be cheap to pick up but make sure its the same type that you have.
if fault is still there then its the pc at fault and thats a pricey one!!!

error 16 can also be comms break down to note reader, coin mech and hopper make sure hoppers are not jammed, happens all the time and brings up error 16. failing that get a barcrest diplay and loom from any reel based machine and plug it in to mpu it will tell u exact fault just like on reel based machines.
