It's one thing to sell the layouts on Ebay as we've all seen lately, but check out the nerve of this guy:
http://cgi.ebay.co.u...88&category=575
Incase you missed it: "This software is copyrighted by me, anyone found to be re-producing and/or selling this software on E-Bay will be immediately reported." 8O :eh: 8O
600 layouts to his credit? Does this make you designers mad? I'd be bloody livid; someone do something really nasty and petty to him, it's not right; the guy needs his head twanging.

how can u possibly say that u have a copyright on software and art work that u do not own??? how can u take the credit for somebody elses work on producing the lay out for the machines??? i have reported you to barcrest and jpm for using their artwork and roms, of which they do own the copyright. have a nice day.

Why not make a new E-Bay account and buy up all his copies. , Or for anything thats not buy-it-now place a very high bid with no intention of buying.
What hes doing is illegal so you cant say he doesn't deserve it, right?

this thread is a waste of time, it has already been discussed at poundrun.
http://www.poundrun....?showtopic=3484
and i must say as a layout designer it does piss me off when somebody claims my work as their own, but i can do nothing about it.

Maybe some kind of polite petition to Ebay might help. It's like selling copies of Windows and Office..... I am sure they would not allow that.
Piracy is worst when the software is available free!! Its the guy that innocently pays for it that loses in the end.

If the auctions are spotted then the emu author is reporting the sellers to ebay as he has copyrighted the emulators. Ebay will then remove the auctions and also suspend the user account.
The only way to really put the sellers off is to post auctions referring people to genuine FME sites, indicating that the stuff can be downloaded for nothing. Most of these disks are really out of date and poorly documented and as for claiming copyright I'm sure Barcrest would be interested in that!

I did this recentley and the response was good- I had an email of thanks - One guy even bid 0.01p - he hasn't paid yet though!!
If enough do it then the good will of the FME community grows and people looking for FME are not fleeced!!! It cost 15p to post a basic auction - Go for it!!!!
