Hiya. I visited the main web site/links around 5-6 years ago as I have always been interested in Fruit machines as a kid, and still now amongst other "coin op" things, and currently revitalising my interest (a possible ebay fruit machine buy shortly)
Over the last couple of years I have learnt and built a MAME cocktail cab, MAME full large upright cab (Maximus Arcade) and more recently, my pride of joy, a 1080p HD full size digial pin (for Visual pinball and Future Pinball), I now want to look at the feasibility of creating a fruit machine cab as authentic as poss to complete my games room.
so as I said I have a 1001 q's but will keep it brief as much as possible. I am really sorry to administrators if this has been covered all b4, but I didn't see any main topics on cab builds and apologise in advance if it has been covered already....here goes 5 q's..
1. main question being is it possible to build a fruit machine cab and has any1 tried it? (I am interested mainly in mpu3 tech)
2. if it is poss, what best monitor (horiz or vert position) LCD/CRT? , and curious as to why diff. resolutions from developers if most original cabs were the same size when originally built?
3. controls - Can the emulators be configurable for any keys? is it ipac compatible for a build?
4. Buttons - I guess we could use the real deal rectangular buttons and light them but is there any suitable programme or thinking of making them flash (led blinky? or perhaps just llight them up with 12v or 5 v)or sequence them in some sort of way?
5. lighting/USB functions - I'm guessing we are still a way off of activiating a solenoid or something to dish out coin wins but has there been any exdperientatrion on USB devices to power anything? We are getting so close nowdays!
sorry to be a pain but u guys here have done wonders and we must be close of building an authentic digital fruit machine just like MAME and Pinball?? kind regards Bluebook
