BOTH THREADS MERGED.....

You asked a question and can't wait for a reply!...

Also I moved this to the correct topic, its not 'a question about fruit-emu' it is in fact about a real machine...

Please feel free to post....but DON'T just repost if you don't get help within 30 minutes!

Thanks

I assume that club take your pick is bell fruit? I had one years ago, twin pound coin tubes, when u win more than like a tenner ish, both pound coin tubes starts paying out loudly! mine did take the new 10p coin, I recomend that u fit an inner tube in the old 10p coin tube and upgrade your mech.
Hope this helps!

thanks for that,it is a barcrest machine, youre right there are twin pound coins, one for 20p but what are the other two for? i thought they were for the 10p coins but even the new 10p is too big for the tubes.

have a look at the two empty tubes and see if you van see a little slit near the bottom of the tube,if there is the should be a little censor attached to the tube, take it out of the tube and put a little tape over it,the machine will then think there is 10ps in the tube and the solanoid should pulse until it's paid the odd 10ps it needs to.

no i pulled the tubes out and there are no slits at the bottom. it pays out £1 coins but any odd amount it keeps saying refill required. what coins go in the remaining tube?

I't could well be 50p coins, some older bacrests payed 50's and 20's and some payed 50's and 10's,i don't understand how your getting the iou error if theres no censors on the tubes,so i'm sorry thats were my little knowlage ends mate.

ok thanks for trying

yes there are sensors at the bottom,i have now put tape over the slits, there are 4 tubes, 3 for £1 coins & 1 for 20p. my problem is it pays out in £1 coins but if i win 40p,80p etc it says insufficent funds to pay out. any ideas?

ok, then the next step to fix the problem is a bit more advanced,, you will need some basic knowledge of wiring + turn the machine OFF FIRST!!!!! by trying the tape method first you have proved that the sensor is not detecting the coins, but the sensor could still be your problem here,, the sensor is ultimately a switch + like all switches, when they fail it is either in the ON position or the off position!! so if it has failed in the off position the tape will make no difference, the opposite can be said if it fails in the on position,, eg- it will continue to pay out the 10p's even though there is none actually present!! the fact that you cant find the tube points to the fact that someone has previously had a dabble + given up due to lack of knowledge, it sounds as though the correct tube is actually not present?? it is actually possible that you have not found the correct sensor, it could have been left unnattached (by a small elastic band) when the last person gave up?? assuming you are holding the correct sensor the solution is fairly easy,, you just need to bypass the sensor, effectively tricking it into thinking the tube is always full!! this little operation is fairly easy to do but off the top of my head i cant remember the wiring set up on the old sensors + there was a couple of diff types although they work exactly the same. if you could add a couple of pics showing the wiring on the sensor i can tell you which ones to join + it will save you needing to replace parts etc!!! hope this helps??

ok dead easy 4u, sometimes they had 3 wires but yours are simple, u need to POWER OFF FIRST!!!!!!!!!! then cut, trim + join together the 2 orange wires, remember not to cut to close to the sensor, because if it still fails to work you may wish to rejoin them i'll explain,,, before you cut wires, pick 1 + mark it with a piece of electrical tape both sides of cut so u can re-connect correctly, but if joining the wires fails it can only be the solanoid, u can confirm this buy swapping it with another 1 :-) the solanoids are the square silver thingys with 2 connectors,,, one option is to exchange it with the 50p solanoid so that it will simply pay out 10p's instead of 50p's!!!!! let me know how you get on, im always happy to help :-)
