As I said if it was done to a good standard I'd agree it's a good concept (like in a fruit machine, similar to Screenplay it would be then, being able to multi-select different machines - Or like the MAME cabinets).

ATM it is just looking horrible, it's like a "Tracey Island" jobby off Blue Peter.

Also if there is no criticism then there will be no improvements, also I got to be honest and say for me at least FME is 100% fine on the computer (I don't miss the sound of the coins going in / out - It's a real as I'd want it to be, just a personal choice).

I got to be honest here and say it's hideous (as it is ATM). Hopefully it's taken in a constructive way.

Am I the only one that think this looks terrible? I just don't see the point.

If it's emulated perfectly on a decent DX why wold you want to play it on that ugly thing?

I can see the point of MAME cabinets (nice ones) and could see where this might be good if it was done in a cabinet that if more or less exactly like a fruit machine cabinet is - But this is nothing like it and looks horrendous (and the buttons are in the DX - So why have this?)!!!

I appreciate the critisism because as you stated , development does not happen without it.
I plan to make this beta look authentic, I've been lucky enough to aquire a 300 ft workshop which I have a beer fridge, a full size pool table and now a jukebox / fruit machine.

I take critisism pretty well because I can also see areas which need improving, but I can do that in my own time, It works really well for now.
I appreciate your comments and encourage others to tell me what they would "Like to expect in a front room fruity , which is also a Soptify Jukebox and an awesome internet terminal"

Trust me on this, the fact you can punch the buttons can never ever be replaced by a mouse click......

Nothing personal, just what I thought about it from the photo's. It's not nice having criticism (no one really likes it), but lots can be learnt by it (wasn't trying to rubbish the idea only suggest a way to improve it - As per my posts).

You can see there is a lot of support if done correct (something along the lines of a computer inside one of those Captain Haddock put the link on from). If it's done properly it could be excellent becuase you basically will have a fruit machine with 100's of games on it. Now that would be something pretty good - Just need to get it looking authentic in a proper size fruit machine cab (or similar).

I wouldn't really say £200 quid was cheap matey, you could mdf from B&q cheaper than the cab.....

This is Beta .02 because 0.1 was made from cardboard, this is wood and enamel.

I'll poggle my 0.3 to run dualscreen, with a true menu system like MAME. As you guessed, I love MAME.
There are certain constraints and problems with full size, ie resolution..... you are talking 6 22" monitors running from a quad sli setup and each screen needs to be tuned out of sync via powerstrip, which is tricky at best....

This equates to around £120 X 6 = £720

Not including the PC to run it.

You can buy a real one for £300

PS, Please make Indy and Addams work on 9.4 and not the horrible JPM emu Ploggy.

I'll build you a fruit machine.

Ha ha! I've just found out it's pretty cool to play it with your feet too! whilst leaning back on a chair drinking beer.

Stupid internet is corrupting my downloads. Wouldn't believe I pay £15 a month for this terrible service eh?
Internet works 30% of the time and really screws up any DL's

Oh am I gonna proper bollock them tomorrow...... I need to see indy running fullscreen.....

That is a cool cabinet you have there, Wolfie... would'nt it be great if you were able to have the proper illuminated buttons on it! :)

Funny you mention that fella.

I was this <---> close, but I couldn't figure out how to get the software to talk to a converter board which would provide power to 7 independant led housed switches.

If I'd used windows scripting host it would have tied up the processor to around 80% during pause times so I would have had to create an artificially fast machine to compensate, thus reducing emulation accuracy.

Please tell me how does MFME talk to light bulbs?

Anyhow, forget those crappy Iphone pics, trust me, it becomes second nature almost immediately to follow onscreen the flashing buttons.
It's easy as pie, Been playtested a few times now....

Be aware I think that layout hasnt got the token switches in so it thinks tokens are empty so it will never give a token win, including the end of trail. Tiburoned's version of it for MFME works just fine tho.

It doesnt. Unlike MAME its not designed to speak to peripherals outside the PC. On top of that the lamp emulation in MFME isnt a "proper" emulation either so you would need to take the original outputs for lamping rather than the emulated outputs for lamping and feed them to a usb or parallel port or something.

Its perfectly possible, but you would need to take the leaked mfme source and add to it to make it send the data to the right pc output so you can interface it.

Once Project Amber is working, its something I would gladly add to the emu, but if you want MFME/JPeMu/BFMulator to do it, it wont afaik.
