I installed this yesterday. As a precaution I use a spare PC for downloading and testing before installing the software on my preferred PC.
Once I had installed Avg 2011 I found my computer was running at around 25% of its normal speed, and struggled to load my regularly visited web sites.
The specs on the PC are Pentium 4, 2.4Ghz, 512Mb ram. Thought that would have been good enough. Anyway, I have now uninstalled it and everything is back to normal.
