Ive recently bought a second hand fruit machine.
The machine loads and does play, but there is no lights or display on the machine.
Does anybody know what this could be?
The machine is a barcrest cash attack 1997.
Thanks.

Sounds like a knackard MUX Unit. This is the motherboard on the back of the front door, it controls all the lights and buttons and the display on the front. Usually if there is a general problem with this the machine will flash up an error code, but this is an early type of machine for the technology it uses. There should be 2 fuses on the MUX board, first check they arent blow and all the plugs going to and from the board are pushed on fully :) Good Luck

Well that reply had most likely blown your chances of getting a proper answer from anyone here. Try the Mecca but I suggest you change your attitude before posting there.

Good luck!

if you thought the best reply was the advice to disconnect the power then you really are a bright spark! i have 21 yrs experience as a technician + happen to know your machine inside out!! there is a reset button inside, very similar technology to a trip switch, to protect the sytem from overheating + power surges etc, it can easily 'trip' after transport especially when laid on its back in a car etc. the reset button is not a big like a hold button, it is very small like on the back of a laptop, its very simple to use a pen + clear the error!! unfortunately due to your disrespect i am not going to tell you where it is but i bet you 1000 pounds to your penny that is the problem!! not bad am i for a THICK TWAT!!! :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

this is exactly what i mean.
nobody helps me out with a problem, until i actually have to put a message back on like that.
now 3 different people are telling me what the problem could be.
i really do appreciate everybodys advice and help, but does it really have to get to the point where i have to get cocky for a reply?
thanks everyone for your help and i'll have a look for that reset button, thank you very much :)

On some Barcrest machine the Display is run through the MUX unit (which should be stuck to the back of the door where all the lamps are. Check to see if there are any lights on this machine, there should be 2, one lit up green constantly and one flashing green.

the only light i can visibally see, is the red power light. ive looked everywhere inside the machine and cant see any green lights, do you reckon its buggered? thanks for your help :)
