Gamestec are very bad at all areas of compensation im afraid.

They do not pay short pays or claims out very often.

In your case you legally do not have a chance as quite rightly pointed out 'malfunction voids play'.

I have often wondered whether some companies leave machines with issues. I watched a friend put over £300 in a £35 Jackpot Cash or Bust by Red Gaming. He would go higher than a one and lose. The fault was that the number reel was out of sync. A stupid schoolboy error by the company or malicious?

For machines out on site, they do go wrong, not a lot you can do. But for you to be the 'first' person to notice that the DOND feature was not working is very unlikely. So I would say a mixture of the venue and the operator.

What you should of been offered was to continue the game that you were playing when the machine was repaired, but so long as a RAM clear was not involved you would of got a portion of your money back.

Bell fruit machines are the death of the industry anyway,

Perhaps you should of just kept reversing the number reel (lower than a 2 etc) until you got the invincible board?? Then just ran.

Like the rest of the UK when I see a DOND machine I just run anyway!

All the best,

Dave

Just phoned up and managed to get through to the Office & Administration Manager who was very nice and helpful. She explained that it is the responsibility of the club owner to pay any shortages from the machines, but because the money did not bank it would be difficult for me to prove that I had what I said I had.

She asked me to write to here explaining what happened and she would pass it to a director and see what they say.

The saga continues.........

Interested to know why you think this mate. I agree with you, but I wonder what the view of an arcade operator is on it. Cash box takings are excellent on these DONDs I believe.

Hi Dougsta,

The cashbox taking on the DOND are huge in many cases, but they are only making such large sums of money as the poor old punter is getting caned.

I was quite a fan of BFM in the day and we still operate a number of Scorpion 2 machines.

Now though they are constantly updating, sure you can verify this Ant if you read this, and making the games even tighter.

I feel so sorry for the guy who wants amusement...no chance on a 'penny in my box AGAIN' Bell fruit.

Barcrest & Electrocoin are rolling out Take It or Leave It (DOND clone). Its a desperate attempt by shrinking companies to make a quick buck from another cloned machine. Just take a look at the websites. Play spot the difference between the games...oh...there isnt one!

There is no players choice now. I love a punt like anyone on here, I have no where to go or to play as unless I like the DOND then I am stuffed.

But back to your point...I personally will not operate a DOND no matter what they take as in the long run that customer will just get ripped to shreds that one too many times.

Just my view, the majority of people on this site do not like DOND, some do and good luck to them, but not for me and no way would I inflict them onto our customers!
