Bike fan myself, and go to a lot of the local MCC rallys and such, like Rock N Blues in Pentrich, and the well known Rock And Bike Fest, in Draycott, Derbyshire.
Back in 2005, I was involved in a small RTA, and got stuck in QMC Nottingham for a few days with just a open fracture (Radius / Ulna, left arm), which was f'all compared to what the guy in the next bed got when he had to choose between hitting a concrete bollard or a front of a 16 ton truck (Took the bollard) on his bike.
Stapled, stitched, pinned and cadged to the hilt, could not even get out of bed for a piss, and by rights he should have been dead, but he got through it all, and now back on his bike, however it took some sodding time to get through it all.
If a guy like that can fight through all this crap, you can do too bud.
Just remember, we are all here for you, whenever you need that punch-bag

Welcome back Steve. Good to hear you are on the recovery road.
I gave up bikes after a head on with a car in 1988. Luckily after a double somersualt with twist I ended up with nothing more that a chipped toe bone and a smashed up bike. That was enough for me.

Hi mate
Well a bit of good news for you... I am so pleased that you have been able to get out of your wheelchair after what has been an awful time for you for such a long period. Don't worry about the memory loss, you will get used to it!
I hope everything will go well for you in November when you have the operation to correct your spine - we will then be able to call you the bionic man with no hesitation - but at least progress is being made and hold your head up high lad for fighting through and getting this far - I told you willpower and urge to beat and fight it would get you through, and this seems to be working - keep at it mate.
With love and best wishes for your future with your continued rehabilitation and in general - it is going well and that's how it should be for you - just PM me as we have in the past if you need a chat - I will respond, even though I don't come on as regularly as I used to.

No problem mate - glad you on top - this site has really helped me through the roughest last few months since my diagnosis with Alzheimer's disease, so we are all here to help and that we all will. We have kept in touch for quite a few years now Steve and whilst I still am able to will always want to know how you are managing your rehabilitation - it's a long process I know, and i hope you have achieved your goal and are back to as good as you can be whilst I am still able to be aware of it... you have my love, best wishes and continued support for the future mate - take care.
All The Best
