Telecine version is great.........almost DVD quality.......
Cyberpunk:- alienated loner who lives on the edge of society in generally dystopic future where daily life is impacted by rapid technological change, an ubiquitous datasphere of computerized information, and invasive modification of the human body.....Hmmmmm

Hi there
I'm really excited and looking forward to playing this - will it be a multiplayer (i.e., my friend and I could play number 1 with certain keys, and number 3 with some other keys)
just wondering
can't wait to play it !!!
keep up the good work - hopefully not too much longer !

It won't be multiplayer because the emulater can only emulate one machine's Main Board at a time - In this layout the machine labelled no.2.
Sorry lol

We all appreciate the hard work but can Astra Samples be added ? I.E. add astra sounds in your own roms?
Will it have any Party Time sounds at all? Forgeting the astra roms.

pete w sim uses mp3 if i am correct..............
this does not.........its a bar x rom.........it would be great to be able swap sounds as easy as that.unfortunately it isnt......................
i am working on it.but i have a backup plan.....
an arcade backing track in mp3 to play in your fave player.with partytime being the main feature.so you even feel if you are in an arcade

Time to add some clarity into this.
There is/was a tool kicking about the internet at one point in the past that allowed you to make soundroms.
However, it wasnt easy AT ALL and thus we only ever saw 2 machines made 'custom' that used custom soundroms.
To do it takes hours and hours of work, and also there was a major bug in the build tool that made the roms 'pop' and basically sound crap.
First youd need to load up the soundrom and 'mark' where all the sounds were that you wanted to change, and then encode the samples that you want to use to the correct sample rate and load them in one by one.
This wasnt all of it though, because you will also find that a soundrom from the wrong machine would have sounds where you dont want them, so then you have to make blank soundfiles and load them in.
Its a SERIOUS hassle tbh, terrance and phillip's asses of fire took me about a week, with about 20 hours put in all told, and I didnt even make or encode the sounds, I had assistance in that.
Personally Id forget it.
Sorry that sounds harsh but the reasons for it have been pointed out time and time again in this thread.
There's no point in 'emulating' a machine unless its the machine.
Emulation is an accurate representation of a machine on a PC, and shouldnt be used to replicate machines that cant be emulated.
You're emulating (well sort of) a machine that is only good (or said to be good) because of it's multiplayer abilities, that you cannot reproduce.
The game will be wrong, the sound will be wrong and the art will have to be changed around to suit, leaving you with a mismatched mess that isnt emulation at all.
Personally I'd stick with pete's simulation of party time, as hes already stated that it will become graphic when the classic version is complete, and will also support multiplayer

its good to see that you are making an effort to give the masses what they want and i applaud you for that.
however i cannot really see how this dx is going fill the hybrid gap, the donor machine plays nothing like the original machine.
at least the current batch of hdx's do play somewhat like the original, for example RB's recent simpsons hybrid or my psycho cash beast one, they both used donor roms that played more or less the same game as the one they were copying. i personally do not care if the sounds are wrong as long as it plays basically the same game, but this can never succeed at that.
i cannot see what service this machine will be, more people are going to be disappointed than are going to be happy with the outcome. and this thread is just hyping what can only be an ultimately dissapointing result.

if you do not want it to play like partytime why are you making a partytime hybrid? why not just make some cool custom graphics? in my opinion that would be the better route to take on this particular layout as it already has elements that do not appear on a partytime machine.

as you can see from the layout it does has custom grafix..........
wether they are cool are not is debateable.lol
at the end of the day its a fun project in a bit of a dry spell...
and as i have made clear.i enjoy lo techs and clubbers.......
and partytime is one of my faves.so this is a natural choice for me
tofollow on my learning curve and to give people a new outlook on machines.....
dx,n a machine to look like its IN THE WILD counterpart is feat of acheivement..and there are some very good artist,s dx ers out ther......
also the classic,s are even harder to...................
so why not make machines which don,t exist......fan machines if you like.
people map and mod games to make the original game engine act like something else....all i am doing is modding club x........to look like a machine I like, and hopefully give enjoyment to a few others as well
and this will be a trend i will be sticking to......................
something different/trying out new methods.............
