Hi,

Serious? Should i leave this alone?

i would also agree with impact, homers meltdown runs on epoch tech which is awfull and will give you nothing but problems, get an mpu5 machine, that tech is really reliable.

TBH with any one that is thinking of buying an old maygay system give them a miss. Thanks for backing us up guys on this one.
The games will be good and be fun but you would spend more time and money trying to keep it working then you will be playing it. :)

Really appreciate the help impact, i should have been more specific and mentioned that i am in scotland, glasgow area.
I had a machine before that used the MPU5 called sub-zero, red gaming machine, great to get parts which i didnt need! but i do see your point, i really dont want to fork out ££££££ and be left with something i cant repair due to non available parts. I am just glad i came on here as i was picking it up later today!!! :arghh:

Sorry cgleisure But i`ve been in the game now for 19 years beleave me the maygay system is pish© and eclipse also.

If the system was that good companys like empire games would of bought it and made machine out of it.
The system where one pished© pcb can knock the whole machine out.Swaping Uxxboot pics chip due to them going awol.Poor psu`s

Eclipse is just as bad with its serial issuses, Bad programme cards

So is what we are saying is let someone buy a dead horse for them to keep hand over fist to try and keep it working.Na DOND NO DEAL.

With your remarks in re: to bfm/bfg what fuse box problems the odd hopper going dead ok.A couple packets of fuses what we say £10 pack for mixed fuses and what £30 for a serial hopper motor And a epoch hopper driver pcb £xx Ahhh we don`t know very few people have them well thats that then.If you do find people that have got them. They want silly amounts of money.

Please see it not as a dig more as whats better for someone to spend they cash on and have very few problems

As a home use machine i would always recommend MPU5, i have spares gathering dust as they are never needed.

In regards to Epoch.....Lamp driver boards and psus always die quick.

Eclipes, hate the stuff, plus not cheap for parts.

Scorp4 ummm its ok, more psu issues but can be solved at no cost.

Scorp5 seems to be ok and i dont get many issues.

But good old MPU5 great stuff.

Cant comment on MPU6 as i dont use it as yet.

Hey guys!

Well thanks to impact I didn't go for the simpsons machine, I did however buy the barcrest hyper viper + the barcrest rio grande which is £500 jackpot, both machines work great but just a few questions for you experts!
My viper machine has a high pitch noise through the speaker, now I assume this might be the switch mode but maybe you guys know a cure?

The grande machine sometimes won't display initialising when start up, just stays blank but bottom lights up, switch off and on then it's fine? Also the note acceptor which is for change only just spits out the notes, tried cleaning?

Sorry for all the questions!!!!

Thanks guys
