Hi guys,

I would like to know how to change the price of play on a high jackpot machine?

The machine is a barcrest and uses the mpu5 board, i have seen jackpot and stakes keys but i dont see any details on high jackpot machines, my machine is on 50p a play and i want it on 10p a play, i looked at the board and there is no percentage key or stakes key fitted.

Thanks guys

On almost all mpu5's, pecentage and the stake / prize settings, normaly have a fixed key fitted, but you can also get switchable keys, so you can set what you want,

Try the following place, for the switchable keys: http://lotelle.com/grs/

Settings chat is normaly included, but they also have the downloadable ones on the same page.

Thanks for the advice! 100% no stake/prize key fitted, there is one on the other machine i bought but not this, i was told it is set at 50p play and £250 jackpot, is it just as simple as me buying a stake/prize key and setting for 10p play? will this also affect jackpot?
oh and is it possible to adjust hopper level? as at the moment it is set to £1100

Thanks for the help!

Try the dip switches 6,7 and 8 on either the program card or MPU5 board (can't rememmber which)in different combinations. Float level will adjust itself acordingly.

hi if its the rio grande your trying to change try downloading the one on this site and see what happens when you mess about with the dips on that first see if you can get it to what you want then copy it in your machine. The one on here may not go to 10p but is worth a try

Yep, nearly all cases with MPU5 machines, set with one of these switchable keys, and same can be done on the pecentage side too.

You may need to change some of the decals on your machine to match your settings mind.

As for changing it to 10p play, this may limit the max jackpot you can set on some machines, but end of it all, switchable keys give you the max flexability, with whatever settings you can achive, so it's always worth getting in BOTH a stake / prize and a pecentage switchable key.

Im certain that Club machines dont have a prize/stake key as such, usually DIP switches probably on the motherboard, or the 4 that arent usually used on a £25 Jackpot machine.

Hi cardie,

I checked the board as you stated and managed to set the stake from 50p to 25p per play, happy with that, 4 shots for my £1 now! Lol, thanks for that! I don't suppose you know if it's possible to change the float amount on machines? It's just this machine is set at over £1000 float.

Thank you

On MPU5 machine (£25 jackpot) when they come out of the factory they are fitted with a note acceptor with increases the float from £125 to £250. I expect on your machine the same principle applys. Look on the MPU5 board and at the bottom there should be a WHITE connector disappering somewhere in the spaghetti of wire inside the machine. When the machine is OFF unplug the wire, turn it back on and the float level should adjust. If its set of £250 Jackpot I think the float is £350, £500 Jackpot £650-750 Float.

Hi Cardie,

The machine i am using at the moment is barcrest rio grande set at £500 jackpot, at the moment when i turn refill key it says refill - 100p x 1065 i already have about £90 in the hopper, i would rather it was set lower.

I had a look at what you said and i cant seem to find this white connector? where does it lead? i tried disconnecting the note acceptor and switching on but this made no difference.

The reason i was curious was i read in another forum about a guys machine that was set at £125 float and another member saying increase it to £150?

My barcrest Hyper viper machine is set to £125 which is great! fill the hopper and use as normal, but i aint filling this with over £1000!! lol

Can i just say that these are both home machines!! and can provide pictures just incase anyone thinks i am trying to fix a machine!

Thank you

The best thing to do is to "Fool" the machine into thinking it is full. Put as much as you can afford into the hopper, if its £500JP, then around £600, then press the button marked "Hopper full" any further coins will be diverted to the cash box.

If you get a win of £50 for example, it will take the £50 back into the hopper, then divert again as it thinks it is full

If you put in less than the jackpot value and you win a jackpot, it will only pay out what is in the hopper, then alarm for a refil
Hope that makes sense.
