i have an 18 inch tft and i cant play 1280 how can i fix this problem or do i need a bigger monitor or tft

If the monitor is new then 1280 X 1024 is the recommended default setting these days. You need to change your resolution by right clicking on the desktop and select properties. Select the Settings tab and move the slider to a higher resolution. If a higher resolution is not shown then the likely problem is your graphics card is old and can't display at that resolution. If so a new graphics card is in order.
