Hi all, this is my first post. Great forum, I didn't even know slot machine emulators existed until I happened on this forum and I'm having a happy rime reliving my youth, lol. There is a machine I used to play all the time in the late 80s. I "think" it was a £3 jackpot JPM, but I can't be 100%. It was similar to SuperBank in respect to being able to bank nudges instead of using them and hoping they would "hold" and could then be used on the next spin. However, this one was a little different in that it allowed you to convert cash winnings into banked nudges (10p per nudge) in the hope that they would hold for the next spin, held nudges were not displayed as a series of 10 lamps like superbank but were just displayed numerically on a LED display. It also had a feature which was shaped like a target, a series of concentric rings each with a cash value, the feature would flick through them and you had to stop it on the bullseye for the jackpot (it was fully skill, not fixed), this feature also had a hack which was later fixed, if you stopped it on the outer ring instead of the bullseye, it paid out £8 in tokens.
Another favorite 80s machine I can't remember the name of had a progressive trail like feature. The reels had numbers on them going upto 9, each number on the payline would progress the feature. It was quite a funny machine to watch people play, as they invariably would start tapping the feature trail while they counted up where the trail would end if the previous spin held. The trail could land on nudges or money, which could be exchanged for each other. A machine with a similar progressive trail feature concept but with a snakes and ladders theme also existed.
I am hoping these machines have been emulated, but it's hard to search when I don't remember the names, lol. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

hi and welcome if you search the download section probably in the mmfe2.0/3.0 then mpu4 section you will find these machines most of the files have pictures making it easy to spot what your looking for.junior members have a daily download limit something like 5 machines per day if this is not enough most people donate 5-10 and up to 20 pounds for site running costs its not mandatory but it will free up your download limit

There were 2 snakes and ladders themed fruities from the 80's i can remember, Hyper Viper/snappy Viper and Adders and Ladders i think they are called. You should be able to find them in the download section, but make sure it is the MPU3 versions as i know barcrest released another machine called hyper viper MPU5 version which is nothing like the one from the "good old days" and yeah i used to count up the trail if it feature held trying to work out which numbers to hold lol.
Shoo.

Line up and Adders and Ladders both had feature ladders similar to the ones described, but Line Up went to 10 on the numbers and Adders and Ladders you couldn't exchange cash for nudges nor vixce-versa. Adders did have a nice touch though, because it did not have GAIN you could nudge round to a higher nudge square with your nudges; the machine did have a get out clause though and quite often gave you 10p after landing on the next nudge square.
All of these have been emulated - just search for the MPU3 versions.
Welcome to the forums, nice to see another oldie who remembers (or rather who doesn't remember) machines from the early eighties.
Hope you have fun here and join in - we're a good crowd.

Thank you all, I've found HyperViper and Line-Up, brilliant stuff. I loved those machines. Those old 80s machines just seemed to have so much character than the new ones.
I've noticed with the generatin of machines after these kind that they all tend to follow the same rules, (i.e. hold after a nudge, 3rd hold). Who came up with those rules, and why does every manufacturer follow them? Anyone know?
