Anyone ever use the Quicksilver in Edinburgh? I know Quicksilver get quite alot of jip on here but this one really is not too bad. I have had my complaints over the years about this branch but the new manager is brilliant she is always doing new promotions and always helps in the best way she can when a machine malfunctions (normally refund in tokens but is better than someone pointing to a sticker on the machine about it voiding)

not used that one,but all the nicey nicyness is all part of their "reel em in and bleed em dry" policy. free tea, sandwiches, promotions etc all designed to maximise your time and spend in the arcade - dont be fooled

Agreed cb1..get ye as comfy as possible so you dont need to leave the arcade for lunch or dinner or whatever thus spending more dosh.
I thought the Quicksilver chain had closed down there was one in my town that closed and im sure someone else on here said thiers also closed..
I think the nobless near me has been taken over by an English (Geordie accents) company says in the window 'under new managment' and the last time i was in there..they were taking machines out bringing new ones in Bar X's about 8 of em in a row..and these woman kept coming in and introducing themselves to the lassies.

most of the Quickpilfers in Brum seem to have been taken over by Shitleys - who`d have thought it- even the arcades must be feeling the pinch a bit..

All but one of the RAL Quicksilvers in Derby have closed (Green Lane, and The Spot), and just Shitleys (Now taken over by a London based company, called Cashino) left, and a small JEM (James Mellor's) on the ring road, with Harrys opposite the court house, and another small one in the eagle centre, and not forgetting Mr Pinky's place (Only place worth visiting, for his lovely MPS machines).
Interesting thing is, this London company also took over the Nottingham Cascade chain in Nottingham / Leicester (Previously ran by Geo Aktins bookies, all now closed), and the Showboat / Beacon Bingo chain in Loughborough from Thomas (Makers of change machines)
However, JEM are opening a new site, in the old HSBC building on Old Market Square, but it makes quite a lot of sense to them, as they are in the pockets of Notts City Council, and are always doing something on slab square.

HAHA i loved the manager in my local one at the time she would always give me £20/30 tokens a day and if i was skint she would just give me more. I think I was her favourite looooooooooool. She didnt last long about 2 years then she got a pub round the corner she was too silly there giving away free drinks she ended up taking the 2 fruit machines with her when she got kicked out.
