Denny's is a decent little cheap cafe that do plenty of good snappin.
Make sure you take photo ID with you, you'll get asked absolutely everywhere in Vegas for it, I got asked most places when I was there and I was 28 at the time. Remember it's over 21 to drink and gamble so anyone under that age with you is gonna struggle.
Cracking little outdoor bar outside the Paris hotel where you can sit in the sun and watch the ballagio water fountain show.
Luxor has got an arcade with all the old classic arcade games like simpsons and stuff.
The posher looking the hotel the higher stakes the tables will be so stick to Excalibur or Circus Circus for low stake roulette.
Slots are just everywhere you turn on all kinds of stakes.

I spent my 21st partying at home... transatlantic flights in those days were for the rich and famous..."The Jet Set"...how times change!
You should have a predetermined idea of how much you are willing to lose before setting foot in Vegas, because lets face it the probability is that you will lose, that way you can still enjoy the experience as the slots get fuller and your pockets get lighter.
Saw a show on tv about eating for free in Vegas, it revolved around buying some local publication that was filled with special offer coupons to entice you into their gambling premises.
There are plenty of "Slot Machine Myths" sites (google it) that suggest the do's and don'ts. However, it's just the same as here...the luck of the draw. Still you never know, someone gets a big win every now and then and it could very well be you.

My advice is it is always more expensive than you think and it is also very big. Walking from the Sahara / Stratosphere at one end to the Mandalay Bay at the other is a long way, though there are plenty of points to stop off at en-route.
My tip is use the monorail - it is quick and cheap, though it does to exit into the back of hotels, so you need to find your way out, via the gaming floor, to the strip. The Nascar roller-coaster at the Sahara is OK, but not brilliant. The rides at the top of the Stratosphere are extreme - try the big shot, which shoots you up in the air when you are already 1000ft off the ground. Moving on the Imperial Palace (shit hotel) has an excellent motor museum/shop which is cheap to enter but you can pick up booklets of discount vouchers etc (e.g. on the monorail) that gets you in free.
Harrahs has good odds on the gaming but no shows or other points of interest. The Venetian is beautiful inside and quite breathtaking - very romantic- make sure you get to the start of the gondola ride. The Palazzzo is meant to be even more swish than the Venetian but never been in there. The Flamingo is old fashioned and a nice piece of Vegas history, as is the Riviera.
Caeasars Palace has good (read expensive) shopping and can take hours to walk through. The Bellagio fountains are a must at night - when I was there I watched a showing when they played Con Te Patiro (Time to Say Goodbye) and I cried it was so moving. They play allsorts of tunes. The Mirage has white tigers on display inside and a good volcano display outside at night - free gratis, as does Treasure Island (now TI I think) which has a pirate battle and the Brits lose and they have shite accents - "what-ho old bean."
Circus Circus has a circus show playing in the big top and is free and is good fun. Excalibur I just find tacky but is King Arthur's themed - does have moving walkways when your limbs are tired from all that walking. MGM Grand you can walk under real lions in a glass cage - if it floats your boat. New York New York roller-coaster is excellent, well worth the money and you can go again for half price if you get back on straight away. Tropicana is a piece of Las Vegas history and worth a visit just to say you've been - good cheap eating there too. The Luxor is impressive at night with it's sky ray coming out of the top of the pyramid but quite old and shabby inside. Mandalay Bay is impressive but has little in the way of free displays / shows - it is also a helluva a long way out.
Away from the strip the Rio hotel has a very good float show with floats hanging from the roof. They go around every hour or so and the occupants of the floats throw out strings of cheap beads for the customers - tip is to go up to the first floor if you want to get lots of beads.
You must do the Freemont Street experience. It is a show in the covered roof-space and is the best free show experience that Vegas has to offer. Also if you are interested in Vegas history hunt out the bone-yard which houses a collection of neon signs of old Vegas or yesteryear.
Outside of Vegas there is the Hoover dam - the trip around and inside it is fascinating - did you know the concrete is still setting and it was poured in the 1930's?
I last went a couple of years ago so some of this info may be duff now, but I loved it and will go again one day - never know I may win the euro-millions on Friday in which case I have already chosen my Vegas mansion where I will stay when I visit there.
Hope you have a bloody good time.

Sorry to say you won't get the opportunity to try this as yet another piece of old Vegas passes into the history books.
The hotel was a bit of a dump but did have character and had rates cheap enough for poor people to stay on strip.

Traveling to 7 hotels in 14 days would be too much for me. Lots of interesting places there, but I would prefer more time to enjoy them. Still your only 21, so you should enjoy the experience, and hopefully still have some Dollars left for the second week after stopping in Vegas.

We've been on a coupel of trips like this - excellent value for money. They nicknamed it the 6,7 8 trip - up at 6, cases outside hotel door at 7 and on the coach by 8. You will have a fabulous time.
Palm Springs is lovely - try eating at Ruby's a typical American diner and great value.
You are at the Tropicana in Vegas, which is on the south end of the strip, near the Luxor and Mandalay Bay. For visiting the north end (Bellagio, Stratosphere, Flamingo etc) you need to take the monorail, or the strip bus - the monorail stops at MGM Grand, which is across the street from your hotel.
Have a fab fab time. I am soooooooo jealous.
