Some of you may have noticed there was a short period of downtime last night. This was because I was moving the site to a new server and whilst the move is happening I can't have people posting messages or uploading files. The move itself didn't take that long, about 90 minutes for 26Gb of data. You should notice that the site is a bit faster mainly due to the increased processor power and also the disk drives, which are twice as fast as the previous ones. The RAID 10 configuration of the six drives also means that we won't lose the site if any of the drives fails.

For those of you interested in computer specs Fruit-Emu now runs on the following:

Dual Intel Xeon L5420 Processors (8 x 2.5Ghz cores in total)
32Gb of RAM
CentOS 5 with cPanel WHM
6 x 146Gb 15,000 RPM SAS in RAID 10 configuration
10 Tb of Bandwidth

The site was only off for just under 2 hours but sometimes it takes time for the various DNS servers to start routing the site to the correct IP address. Re-booting your PC should do this but sometimes you have to also reboot your router or sometimes you just have to wait. Looks like you're OK now though.

hi duplu that is a great system you got there mate. Site is much smoother running now thank you. I have been a member since 2006 but lost my username password, and my old email address has now been and gone as it was a paid email account with my host. Where you hosting fella. the Cache of the CPU will help with Linux. Nice configuration. I must admit the website in my knowledge has always ran smooth as anything. Keep up the great work ;)

Where you hosting fella.

Currently in the Rapidswitch datacenter in Maidstone but will be moving the server soon to another datacenter because the Rapidswitch one has been a bit unreliable recently.
