They dont really suck they just take alot more before they pay out you have good and bad new machines but you really need to know what your doing as there are so many rips and cheats now its silly
One thing I will say is they should have stuck to £35 jackpot it was about right £70 is to big of a jump and now they are talking about £100 jackpots in pubs

all new machines are dog shite unless like bruce you know when the best time to play em is.Unlike the £6 token jackpots which seemed to spread there percentage, with something coming out every few boards. These new machines take untill the percentage gets so low it has to chuck £210 out to get it somewere near normal, then for the next player it's buisness as usuall...ie take take and take some more.

I aint sure I would say I know when to play them there is still luck a skill needed but maybe not in the same way as years gone by if you just like to spend a few £ in your local pub then stick to Barcrest machines you stand more chance of of getting a small win but the days of being sat on the same machine for hours for fun have gone I will say that

I agree with you fully. Most of today's new machines are rubbish. Bring back the old TOKENS and along with that the FUN! Check out my new forum and you will see that I have loads of "Golden Oldies" in my Retro Section (half the arcade!) Please feel free to join my new forum & make your comments. Link below. PS. I still use tokens!

A better question would be 'why are all new machines basically Deal or No Deal'

Lol-bcos they know they can make money off the majority who play emA better question would be 'why are all new machines basically Deal or No Deal'
My last go on a £70 jackpot was a new monopoly game-based on DOND(as most of them are! )
It cost me big time!took £210 and i walked away £20!-foolish man!
Ive learnt now-they dont get a pound.
The oldies are by far the best, just v.few around.
If im gona have a gambol on slots,I stick it in a £500 slot-cos uve more chance of a big win than yr likely to have on a £35/£70 jackpot slot.Just goes quicker

Nail on the head.
Given that nowadays most pubs are closing because they're sh*te and expensive surely the days of your traditional pub fruity must also be numbered? I have no idea given that some are a pound a spin, how anyone has the cash to pump into crap like Deal or No Deal?
The turning point was indeed when the jackpot was raised in relatively quick succession from £25 to £35 All fun went out of the window. What we have now is the worst of all worlds with modern AWP's less playable than an 80's clubber but without the tiny chance that one will chuck in a cashpot.
I'd just like to add why couldn't they have upped the AWP jackpot years earlier? I would have realised machines were sh*te much quicker and would have saved enough to buy a 4 bedroom house.
B*rstards.
