Guitar could iask if amber will run the bwb £4/£5 cash coversions of the mpu4 games,I.E viva espana,hot rod,road hog,andy's great escape,andy capp as when these roms are loaded in mfme they just give bad character from the off and move no further,even with a blank dat.


Yes they can be made to run, in fact you can make them run in MFME 2 if you are really clever ;)

Not as well as I had hoped but not awful either. I have a lot on at the moment with regards sorting out work. Normal service will be resumed shortly.

Good stuff,wouldn't mind doing a dx of bwb's duty free if the bad charachter can be sorted in amber,as i wanna see if it has the bug the rest had in the wild,it used to kill you on every hi/lo gamble it gave you :err:

Ok this rom wont work.

Basically what they do is always require the same value to be input by the characteriser. In roms I have tried before they were reading from address 0x800, so you just fill up the chr editor table with all the same number (2E in this case), but this rom is reading from 0x802 so that hack wont work. But Wizard has said himself on the mecca that this is accounted for in the new MFME, and it will also work in Amber.

Will work just fine in Project Amber AND the new MFME apparently.

what about red hot fever roms ;)


Should work just fine in current MFME with the right chr file.

putting all the dond stuff behind us..... a more sensible question will it be able to emulate any of the following...Dungeons and dragqueens(global) Billy the quid(cool games) Saturday night beaver(global) Bobby dazzler (mazooma i think) hope it can as these are my favourite fruitys :) .

They are all epoch apart from Bobby Dazzler which is s4 and i dont think runs or has no sound

maybe the new MFME will run the epoch ones :jimlad:

Hi Guitar,

As I see your on the forum around now (just read your comments at Tommy's S&L release), can I ask how are we doing with Amber for the people?

Has it gone out to layout devs yet or are you still working on the finished product?

Basically, do you have an ETA for the scene or is it done when it's done now go away! :)

There is now something like a 4 week plan in place to get Amber ready for full release. Two weeks to finish the main coding of controls, edit tools, import, reel editor etc, a week to fiddle, polish and write the install tool, and a week to write the docs and/or add them as a help index in the emu.

That's the current plan, and I'm hoping to stick to it.
