Hi
As you all know the PC that runs the repro has died, I want to get it back up ASAP but due to the car needing a nice new timing chain, a couple of new tyres and of course road tax, funds are a little low for a new PC at as well, but I do know that some of you guys on here like me play with PC's as well as emulation, and like me prob have some parts laying about in a corner, like me (but not the ones that I need now), so i was wondering if you have some parts would you be willing to donate them to the me to get the repro back up and running again ASAP i am willing to cover postage costs of course.
Due to the fact that last time I asked for some help it caused a some issues with some users and to be honest I dont want to get into that argument again, I am not asking for cash donations but assitance with parts.
As far as i can work out the issue lies either in the main board or one of the bits on the board so what if any one has laying about some of the following please PM.
Mainboard that has 2 X PATA connections if it supports my current 2.4 GHZ celron CPU that would be a bounus as it means i can test this in the new board to see if this is the issue, however if some one has a complete board with a CPU and memory even better.
A PATA HDD any size large enough to hold an installation of windows XP for testing mainly so i can deffo elimanate the HDD (even one i could loan would be a help)
If you have any other bits that you think may help please PM me.

when you boot up you say you get a BSOD, are you able to see what the stop error code is, if you can jot it down and post it someone on here might be able to tell you what the actual problem is with you system (Hardware/software error).
its just a thought and you never know could help alot.
it may sound silly but it helped me about a year ago i had a laptop that kept BSODing i checked ms website for answers and good old google but to no avail so i posted over at avforums and within a week i got a reply about problem batteries giving BSOD so i replaced the battery and not seen a BSOD since.
i know its not a laptop your having problems with but like i said "its just a thought and you never know could help alot".

Hi Ady
I will let you know as soon as i have check my ram and got back to Niles with the info i will deffo take up his offer of the chips, the mainboards you have are thay ATX boards as my PSU only has ATX conectors on it the board i have now also has several USB ports on it but I can live without those another USB hub is a lot cheaper than a mainbord and chips, and i could also do with a new set of IDE cables as well as the ones I have have been well used and twisted lol do you by any chance have a copy of windows 98 or windows ME on has to be an origianl CD or copy there of as my copy of me wont read and the version of XP i have is an upgrade version so you have to put in an original 98 or ME CD to let the install continue. If i cannot find one of these i am going to have to use a Cough Cough version I only want to do this as a last resort.

Hi Todd
Thanks I could cirtainly do with you some new Ultra IDE cables as the one i have have been well battered about so this could indeed be part of the issue. My main Board only has 2 ram slots on it i think normal DDR but i will have to look when i get home at the moment i am useing 2 x 256mb chips for a nice half gig of memory.
Its got me this time it just wont boot i have even tryed booting it with just the one HDD 2 DVDs and all USB devices disconnected just incase it was a power issue but it just will not boot i even tryed to boot it with all of the onboard systems disabled, and i attempted to boot from my RAID card as well it just will not boot at all i am scratching my head with this one and i am an IT tech hope the boss is not follwing this thread lol

Hi Hit the 6
Thanks six that is a good offer I have also had the offer of a tower from a guy at the Mecca however his tower is not going to be avilible for at least a week where as yours is avilible now a few questions is the VGA connector built into the main board and also are the HDD connectors PATA or SATA even better if it has 2 of both as then when the cash allows i can replace some of the PATA with the now relatively cheap SATA drive with TB's of storeage this means less strain on the PSU powering 6 drives , and if the VGA is built into the mainboard is there also a slot free on the mainboard to take an external vid card, if there is then one of the guys may have a spare vidio card avilible as the machine is mainly used to run the repro, the video card does not need to be anything too all singing and dancing, I might even have one floating about in one of my boxes allthough i think its so old it actual plugs into a PCI slot, I have a PCI raid card that i can plug into one of the PCI slots to give me access to the 4 other PATA drives, and i have a wopping 700w psu that i would swap over to give the requred power to make all of them work (i realy do need to move next door to a power station do you know how many drive bays there are in the case, I need the space for 2 X DVD writers and also 6 X PATA HDD's if the case has not got this space this is not an issue though as i can move the main board and every thing out of your case and put it into mine, and as your machine will have windows on it already this will save me a load of time, I will send you a PM shortly with my contact info so we can arrainge something, also thanks to all the guys who have offered to chip in with the postage costs, I am also willing to chip in should not be much, also do you know what type of memory the machine takes ie DDR or DDR2 and how many slots it has for memory if its DDR and there are 4 slots and once i know that my memory is ok i can use that to give the machine more memory as well.
Obvioulsy if you happen to live somewhere in the North East area in or around the Boro, Sunderland, Newcastle, York, Leeds, ect i can come and do a personal pick up save on the postage costs completely then.
Many Thnaks

Hi All
HT6 has sent me some picsof the internals and with my raid card i can make it work using the sata drive in the case the vid card is inbuilt but only in black and white but the board has a agp x 8 socket so i can find an alternate vid card to use the one i have is an old one that is only a pci and may not work i have pm 6 with the delivery info so the repro should be back soon.
