Sorry to hear that Daryl I know our last correspondence wasn't on a good note it was me on a very bad day .That unfortunately is the state of this so called Great Britain the f*****g country is so f***ed up and prioritises all the wrong things the people who need help cant get it because  some dip shit with little experience in the real world says there fine and social services has to be the most dysfunctional of the government run outfits .People with that kind of illness need to be in care my step fathers dad had it and he went into care near the end but to think they could leave such a vulnerable old person to fend for themselves makes me sick they say the beds and care arnt there but if the stopped pumping f*****g money in to things like cultural centres and shit like that it would be take care 1969kappa

Couple of updates

After having a few blood tests yesterday, my GP telephoned me this morning to confirm that I have now been diagnosed with 'type 2' diabetes… he has left a dietary sheet with the reception, and I have got to make another appointment within 12 weeks, for further blood tests, as they are hoping that they will be able to manage it under dietary control (so I don't drink, and haven't for nearly 3 years, I don't smoke anymore, and now I have got to stop eating all my favourite food, my 'comfort' food, because it is the 'avoid this food' section - typical!)

…some good news however. I have received another telephone call from my local council to tell me that I can pick the keys up for my new bungalow this afternoon and go and view it inside - after 5 weeks since I  won it! They have got to be handed in by 3.30pm this afternoon though and then I have 24 hours to decide whether I want it or not (too late me ducks, my carpets are gone from my flat, everything is packed away in boxes and bin-liners and I have ordered a skip).

An eventful day for me today… but tempered with a very emotionally sad week for us all with 'thunderstorm's passing though.

Firstly thank god good news usually out weighs the bad and don't blame yourself for thunderstorms untimely ending no one on here's to blame, we may never know what was going through his mind or what actually happened on that fateful night.
And to your bungalow congrads again when I won the bid on my 2bed house I already had a look through windows a couple of weeks and handed in my notice to quit my old place before signing up as I knew it would be better than where I was its much bigger no skanky neighbours pure heaven I left my old place aug5th still no one in there yet 9weeks ago!! I'm sure you'll be very happy where you're going.
Onto your diabetes my g/f's step relative has this type2 and he still eats drinks normally and has chocalate n sugary stuff but in moderation so you'll be fine.
Regards Vecs

Excellent news Daryl.  Flat looks fantastic and nice that it is newly decorated and carpeted.  Shame about the diabetes, the Missus has type 1, which these days in easier to control as she just injects insulin manually whenever she eats or drinks carbohydrates, to act like her pancreas would have done had it not packed in.  She still watches what she eats though.  I am sure you will get into a regime and get used to it in due course.

Enjoy your last weekend in your old place.

If that meet had been going ahead this weekend you could've come after all. ;)

Love the new pad there Daryl. No decorating or worrying about carpets or lino. Just move straight in and make it your home, lovely that's all you need to do. The fireplace in the living room looks very 'Art Deco'.

When are we all coming round for tea!!!!!! :)

Good Luck with the move and everything.

P.S. seeing that you showed me yours (toilet that is), here's mine.

some tablets have been taken by either my Mam or stepdad...

...so I have had to go racing up to their flat in case Mac had to go into hospital and my stepsister went straight to hospital to meet her dad.

I was told by district nurse that if I didn't agree to my Mam going to Kings Mill Hospital with my stepfather, then the Social Services wouldn't put my Mam into respite care!...

They are supposed to be responsible and looking after them both since my stepsister and I told them we couldn't cope anymore with the situation - but the social worker said they have both been fine - until tonight, and guess who's had to do all the running around - yes my stepsister and I why they are pen pushing behind their desks!

I shouldn't have to be putting up with this!

It has been nearly a month hasn't it - and I bet you all thought it was safe - sorry! :p

Firstly I want to thank all of you who sent me birthday wishes on 25 October - they were very much appreciated, from the FME forums, Facebook and personally through telephone and person too - I had a lovely day!

Secondly, with regards to 'BungalHome' as I have now named my new home, I actually finished the bedroom in the early hours of my birthday... I know I have been in over a fortnight now, but when you have to do these things on your own - well, it takes time.

So here is the update to all the rooms, and how I have got my back garden, which isn't really a garden at all, but a gravelled patio:

Living Room:

Attached File  living room.png   1.38MB   1 downloads

Kitchen:

Attached File  kitchen.png   1.67MB   1 downloads

Bathroom:

Attached File  bathroom.png   1.05MB   1 downloads

Bedroom:

Attached File  bedroom.png   1.26MB   1 downloads

Back garden patio:

Attached File  patio.png   1.22MB   1 downloads

So that is it now - I can just enjoy whatever time I have left, and when the time comes that I can no longer function for myself, I am in the ideal place for carers to look after me in my own home, with easy access to all amenities... perfect! :)
