A little technical this.....
Just purchased a NV4 note acceptor for my temple of treasure fruity.
It used to have a note acceptor (an astro GBA i think) before i bought it.
I've re-jigged the cable to connect it - it lights up - reads notes but wont accept them for change.
Any ideas ??? The unit supposedly is already programmed for uk notes - i can't teach it cos it has the latest firmware which doesn't enable this - arrrrrrgggghhh
I could do with a detailed MPU5 pinout - especially on the aux port connections (this is where the note acceptor connects)
If anyone can help - please let me know.
Many thanks in anticipation

is it the old or new genesis cabinet?
the old cabinet is like king kebab, which has a smooth edge round it, where as the newer genesis has a pattern embedded on it , like golden dragon.
Basically, if its an old system, you have to get a chip upgrade to make the mpu5 recognise its there. you say it had a note acceptor before? i guess there shouldnt be a problem, unless note acceptors behave differently.

Im having a similar problem, trying to figure out how to connect a jcm note acceptor, but at least now, I know from your post that its supposed to connect to the aux port! I could not figure out where it was meant to go, as I have no cabling at all yet!
I do have some info on the aux port, here it is
pin desc
1 - aux0.7
2 - aux0.6
3 - aux0.5
4 - aux0.4
5 - aux0.3
6 - aux0.2
7 - aux0.1
8 - aux0.0
9 - /aux_int1 - handshaking
10 - /aux_int0 - handshaking
11 - aux_strb - strobe data from or to external equipment
12 - 5v
13 - 12v
KEY
15 - GND
aux 0.0 to 0.7 are ttl compatible, and can be either inputs or outputs depending on the programming used.
not sure if that is of any help to you, but it may be. Good luck with the note acceptor, if any one has any info on jcm / vivid interfacing then Im all ears, or eyes as its on screen!

Hi,
I have just got a new Interface for my NV4 and the loom and it will accept notes but will not give any change.
I have read through the NV4 manual and the machines manual and i still cant get it to change notes for me.
It lights up as it should & the hopper is full.
The machine is £25/jp Who Wants to be a Legionnaire (bell fruit) and the NV4 firmware is 2.75.
I also tried it on Tetris (mazooma) £5/jp again with the hopper full, and it was exactly the same result.
Any help or advise would be great.

If anyone has a detailed pinout for the MPU 5 board, I would be grateful. I am unsure how to connect the NV4 to the AUX port, i.e. which pin on the NV4 connects to which pin on the MPU 5 AUX port. At the moment, my NV4 will not even take a note in, I am assuming I have made a connection error.
