..Click HERE to claim your prize
I am so sick of seeing this same stupid advertisement on so many websites, I mean, How stupid do they think people are? There's even one going about that asks "Are you stupid?, Yes or No"
I just hope fruit-emu doesn't ever start doing those dodgy advertisments :|

Spybot is quite a good ad-ware remover. And it's free. Not sure if this would do the trick. Maybe, if you use it in combination with a pop-up blocker and a decent ant-virus software. That said I still got a 1,000,000th visitor message on IMDB the other day...

Spybot isnt bad but ad-aware removes stuff that spybot doesnt pick up...
I used to use spybot all the time and to test i ran a check and then ran an adaware check and there were 60 items that spybot didnt pick up..
Also adaware has new updates every couple of days where as i have yet to see an update for spybot...
Popup blockers do stop you clicking the install button but once the software is on your machine its a case of stopping it re-enabling

Pgamblin - xp's firewall is the minimum you should have on your machine. Get a second level firewall such as ZoneAlarm on top,
or have a dedicated machine for a firewall/router etc if you're a geek.
ZoneAlarm Pro will get rid of pop-ups, web-bugs and ActiveX etc etc,
of course pop-ups/unders use Active Scripting and you shouldn't surf
with those enabled anyway given what can be done with it - coupled
with the fact that most people use an admin-level user account all
the time they are on the net, hence so many bot/drone/spam infected
systems. (Note - there are drawbacks to limited user [xp] accounts,
such as NAV not being able to update virus definitions.... can you say
shite os, shite design, shite av program design etc
Anyway, there's a couple of suggestions. Also if you use non-ie browsers
then set the image loading to originating server only. That can help too
