The DCMS has today signed the order which changes the 2005 Gaming act to allow B3 machines to stake up to £2 instead of the current level of £1.

big brother should never have interfeared with the games in the first place. many old games like cashino, Haunted house played a far better game+return on the £2 stake and were ruined by the restriction.

How come for example, take haunted house, in which when you got say a win of £20 you could do the 'Super Bet' in which you could play it at any cost per spin upto i think £20 a spin. How come that was still legal?

Because you were getting a win of which you were then GAMBLING to the maximum prize (500).
Same as if you got a £20 win on a club machine and hi lo to the Jackpot.
As for the £2 stake returning it will not be anything like S16 as the RNG will not return, so just compensated games...LOSE or win at twice the speed.
The stake and prize ratio should be better as it is now back to 250 x the stake rather than 500 x the stake.
I personally think it is another desperate attempt by the industry. Rest assured it will not benefit the punter.

I would imagine that the vast majority will still be random, and any games that were around during the S16 days will simply be returned to how they were, as manufacturers know that they worked well like that the first time.
Watch out! There's a SIG thief about...

£2 play is now active in some Gala bingo clubs -- my friend just messaged me to say she had been playing some of them today

Do you reckon we might see the return of the community/shared pots, or are they going to remain individual to each machine?

Community pots are not permitted under B3 rules.

They are starting to appear all over @ Gala bingo clubs....
I have heard that the £500 Deal Or No Deal is pretty good when you get the 3 phones.....(Lowest red is £50) and 1st offer is always £130+
Rocky on £2 stake.....

It's amazing how quickly the £2 stake has been implemented on many machines only days after its announcementThey are starting to appear all over @ Gala bingo clubs....

Now they are linked to hq and together with all the new video based machines they can update/upgrade the whole lot in next to no time (kind of like those quiz machines with all the different games that they are constantly changing the ones available).
Personally the stake is irrelevant as the percentage is still the thing since the machines stopped being random. Personally I used to love feature machines but to be honest the money is in the video based £1/2 machines for them - I am sure if they could have £10 stake machines they would and may do soon enough.
Would love them to re-release the 1980/1990s machines in modern cabs with stakes reflecting prizes for todays market but maintaining the old way of playing.

Jeeeeez £2 a go! How many goes is that for your average dole cheque now?
I wonder how long it will be before we see machines stacked on top of each other so that places can get more B3,s in.

The ones in the Gala club have a selection of 9 games per machine (via a front end menu) --- and they have 10 machines in total
The law has now changed so a venue can have upto 20% of their machines as B3 (so if they site 100 machines - 20 of them can be B3 machines)

I once watched a lady put her redundancy package into three of these £2 s16s.£25,000 she fed em over a 19 day period,in her pursuit to win a jackpot!!
She lost every pound and won no jackpot!
I know these are rare occurences!
None the less the greater the stake, the more hooked we become
My advice avoid them, but if you do fancy a gambol then take what you can afford and be more than prepared to lose ya cash
The big winners are the Gaming industry and the government!Kerching

im not so sure it would work that well, take an average 80's machine 10p play £3 j/p, the stake is 1/30th of the jp, to get the same playability @ £70 jp the stake would need to be £2.33 a spin
it wouldnt feel the same playing an old fruit and rarely hitting the jp :/

Been to Skegness / Mablethorpe this weekend, only found 1 machine on this setting so far, but I am sure given time, some if not most B3's will get an upgrade.
I would love to see BFM's Random Spinner set back up on £2 like it was in it's sec16 days, as it played a fantastic game then, and not limited to 5 win lines.
