Hi
Beware of these little devils.....a few arcade owners are giving the impression that these machines are dropping when they are not !
Classic example, one bloke put a few quid in the Magic 10 a few days ago and it was dropping after about £20. He won £60 but the machine became empty....it seems the machine has a hopper top-up button. When pressed it tells the machine the hopper is full (when it is not) and as such gives the impression it is dropping. Crafty as arcade topped it up with the balance and then it was dropping again !!!
So next time you hear one of these drop take note if it is ripping you off.
Any tricks welcome..... 8-)

Dropping still doesnt represent that the machine is about to pay out a few jp's.
This rule applies even more since the £25 jps hit the pubs and arcades.. i have seen a dropping machine take £60 from someone without offering them a jackpot.. out of interest i stuck around until they emptied the cash box on the machine and sure enough the amount of coins that had dropped through were in their hundereds so dont be fooled by a "CASH FULL" light or the sounds of the coins dropping because the machine can still and will still play bad...

So what you are saying is that these machines pay out more if the hoppers are full? And that the arcades are 'fooling' the machine into thinking it's hoppers are full with this button press?

I'ts all aload of rubbish full or not the machine will payout when its ready.I've been in coral island at blackpool and seen a woman plow £300 in a sit down classic magic 10 why it was full and it gave her jack shite apart from the odd tenner and bar win every now and again.I put a tenner in one and got two x wins then had the sevens roll in three times and the machine only paid out about £30 and then started alarming and saying hp in the credit display so the machine must of been empty. So full or empty they pay whenever they want.

I wonder if they can set the float in the hopper to whatever they want and the rest drop into the cashbox in the bottom to make emptying the days takings easier? Also it would make losses much smaller if your arcade got done over in the night and emptied all the hoppers of 30 quid each instead of 200 plus lol.

It's not bull. It's an old trick that red machines had programmed in. They would 'false' back for a fiver every now and then after they went into attract mode to fool the new punter into thinking they are full. Crafty fu***rs. And yes - in general if a machine is 'truly' full it will pay out in the long run. Worst case senario is usually a minimal loss. I played for 20 years and this fact is the cornerstone of every decent player.
