i know there is mixed feelings with amy winehouse and i must admit i am new to her music but when i listened to her soulfull lyrics i found something i could relate to.
i saw the pictures and the videos of her looking as she did surely we can all see she was a tortured soul looking for help which is something we have all done at some point of our lives.
maybe we will take notice in future because there will always be someone around us who needs a little guidance and help please let us be helpful and not turn away just because we may think someone is a lost cause (they could be so much more). thank you for reading my post replys welcome xxxx

you make it sound like we do nothing to help these so called junkies. what is it we need to do? strip naked and run a marathon to raise money to pay for their extra rehab? maybe work an extra 50 hours a week ontop of the current 60 so we can pay for their extra medication and care? we are talking about people that choose to live this life and amy winehouse was all that...she had music fans, family and £zillion in the bank (something many of us dont) to guide her through. yet she still chose to ignore and continue to walk the junkie path, now dont tell me she couldnt hear all the cries. end of the day, she dug her own grave so let her lie in it. the real tragedy is that she wont be remembered as a music star, she will be remembered as a troubled music star.

steele you sound like a very bitter person and from your reply it is obvious you have no real experience of drug addiction or depression (do some research). i can also tell you amy winehouse paid for her own rehab treatment out of her quote ! £zillion in the bank !
i hope that you never have to help someone in your own family who suffers from addiction because your reply shows you have no compassion.
if you took a little time to read my post you would see i am just trying to ask people to think twice, we cant always take people for face value and no matter what, people who suffer from addiction are still just people who maybe just need that little bit extra EMOTIONAL (not financial) support.

i think it may also interest you to know that amy had no trace of drugs in her system before her unfortunate death.

no offence steele, but i have to share Cass`s opinion here, yes AW had money and privlege, but she also had a massive entourage of hangers who thrived on her fame and notoriety. she had an addiction and like most people she found it difficult to cope with that.
lets not forget that a lot of us here (myself included) have had an addiction - albeit to fruit machines, but possibly equally as damaging and maybe if we had the chances that Amy Winehouse had,we could have ended up the same. "there but for the grace of God".....

I never cared much for her, but I will say this. Whether it was self-inflicted or not, we should sympathise with the death of a young person.

But Steele is right, to some extent she made her own bed on this one. Hundreds of innocent young people die every day, even without having made bad choices in life. They deserve the sympathy a bit more than Amy does.

i know what you mean dougsta i just wanted to say addiction is a terrible thing to try to resolve i just think its so sad that so many people lose the fight everyday. and there are also so many people who have lived their lives without any addiction but still suffer badly from so many illnesses.
i just hope if any of us are in a position to help then we will xx

What bugs me is all the folk who suddenly rush out and buy the albums of someone who has died. Why do they do that? Do they think it will increase in value like a work of art?
I liked her "Back to Black" album, but she always looked unkempt.

of course its obvious and i dont want any experience in drug addiction, but judging by your comments its pretty clear you have!
maybe i think i should start taking drugs just so i know the real experience of what its like to be a drug addict so then when it comes to posting on a fruit forum, i will be sure not to post the wrong thing!

This is why I dont buy newspapers anymore!!!!

Why do people believe every little last thing they read in newspapers? Newspapers are designed specifically for empty vessells waiting to be filled with any old ink written rubbish. No trace of drugs in her system............next joke please!

Gambling can be more of a hazard due to the fact people can hide it so well, some even for years. I went to a lot of GA meetings back in the day and some of the stories there, well put it this way I thought I was bad. Some people rob their employer and some steel from family and friends others will just get as much credit as possible. Drugs are addictive but at least you see the signs of drug abuse.

i often wonder that myself. I thinks its because people only recognise them once they've died and they feel they owe them the credit they couldnt be bothered to give them when alive. it was the same with racist fat pig jade goody, everybody slagged her off when she was alive and then all of a sudden she was a wonderful "super-hero",

For someone who has the alcohol abuser and drug user (regardless of the alleged reasons) Big Bill Werbeniuk as his Avatar. Don't you think it's myopic of you to call Amy a waste of space.
