Hi everyone.
I have only recently discovered the world of Fruit machine emulation and so far I cant get enough !!!
Loving going back and playing some of the classics that I used to spend most of my wages on as an 18year old !!!
However there are quite a few machines that i cant seem to find any trace of and wondered if anyone can explain why.
I appreciate this info is possibly on the forum somewhere else but any answers i would be really greatful. So here goes ....
Firstly I used to love a machine called Wipeout. I remember it being a bit of a pig but was different and i loved it. Used to streak aswel which was always a bonus.
Secondly I cant find any of the machines made by Global games - things like Geronimo and Flashback amongst others. If i remember i think Wipeout may even have been a global machine. My guess is th software cant be emulated for some reason - is this likely to change in the future
Finally Homers Beer Guide. Loved it !!!! Where is it ?????
Again i am sure these have been answered many times before but thanks again
Tom

Not sure about the machines mentioned but Homer's beer guide is epoch tech that isn't emulated in the public releases of MFME
Perhaps one of the more senior members might know about the others mentioned

Hi tjgoodhew, nice first post.
I think all the machines you mentioned run on Epoch technology which as you correctly suspect isn't supported in the public version of MFME. Epoch was believed to have been added to MFME but ever since the creator of said emulator got caught breaking the terms and conditions of the MAME licence he pulled the plug on any further public releases so we're never likely to see Epoch games running.
The Amber emulator is under way but as yet is concentrating on MPU4 machines but who's to say that Epoch won't be added at some stage? The same goes for MAME which has recently started taking an interest in the UK fruit machine market, but there's a long way to go before we see anything substantial.

Thanks Dad.
I thought as much thanks for your response anyway.
Lets hope that it does happen but there are more than enough to keep me going in the mean time.
One other quick question.......
I am guessing there is some sort of restriction on emulating new machines and they have to be a certain age before they can be done.

There used to be the 'three year rule', an unwritten agreement that newer machines should be left alone. This doesn't really apply now since the newest techs we can emulate are MPU5 & SC4, the manufacturers are way beyond those techs now.
