Am i missing something? Did i not tick the right box at the job centre? As i said earlier i get £67.50 a week. Out of that i have to pay gas, electricity, bills and maybe eat, oh the housing benefit i get is £100 short per month of my actual rent so make that £42.50 a week. Gee i've got it good! I certainly don't intend to sponge for long!

We all have views and opinions.....

But (yes I apprciate this is only a general forum thread) if issues are so close to the heart how many actually take the time to call of write to their MP about it too?...I agree it wont go far...but it'll have a damn better effect!

Why do people always think that they shouldnt be paying tax themselves when working, yet they go around calling people on the dole "spongers and scroungers"? You cant have it both ways. People on the dole are not working to fund the likes of the royal family, the real spongers. Dont forget the Queen is sitting on a £500 billion golden reserve and yet is too ignorant to even donate a few quid to save her own countrys ass which is sinking faster than the titanic, even her grandsons wedding came from the taxpayer and how many of us would be able to afford a wedding like that, especially in this recession? If blame is to be placed somewhere for this countrys state then it should be placed within the head of state itself, the monarchy - which when the Queen dies, she should take the monarchy along with her.

But my head isn't in the clouds...they bring BILLIONS into the country, so their wealth is a 'drop-in-the-ocean'........fact!

No the real spongers are the politicians who can claim £400 a week for living expenses ie food and employ the family as staff, have 2 houses and get the money to have the duck house on their moat cleaned. Sack a few hundred of them and build/save/modernise a few hospitals. I can't remember the last time i had foie gras.

Darienne is a prime example of my next point....I know you work your butt off and you pay your way...you ask nothing from the Country you abode in. My local paper shop has been ran by English people since I was a sperm and closed at 6pm and 12pm on a Sunday. Its just been taken over by foriegners...have to say I love it!!!.........everyday they are open 'till 8pm, so when I finish work I can now just pop in there other than travel 3 miles to the closest Co-Op.

Yea when we moved out here, we put just over £750,000 into the Spanish economy when we purchased our bar, we employ only spanish born staff - and currently have 15 of them on the books, they are very popular with the locals and tourists alike and the bar is always busy (but then again we are on Calle La Fragata - which is one of the main roads leading to the marina). We work 7 days a week and we work bloody hard at it too - We treat our staff well and in return they work well for us and take home good pay.

You wanna look at the state of the matter, thicko,yobbo,rip off,skin head,chavy,impolite,uneducated,dumbed down,silly,self obsessed,idiots,aggressive,unhelpful,x factor clap for garbage,airheads nation its become.want me to continue, no wonder my sister left for Canada years ago, and to be f...in frank, can't wait to go myself. what a sad shambles its become,hardly much to be proud of is it and to blame it on "the foreigners" how sad can you get.

ok, l get what you're saying,this is what l gleaned from it anyway, its the same everywhere, right, but is it ?
and does that excuse it ? no is the answer l'll give you. l know l might be hoping for some kind of utopia which int gonna happen anytime soon,if ever,but l find it hard to deal with today's society,surely l can't be the only one to feel that. l just hope it gets better but l am pretty certain it wont. hence the negative vibes coming from me. no hard feelings, its just the way l feel about life nowadays,the way it is, doesn't mean, in my book,that that's the way it has to be, get where l'm coming from now do you.

when i was 18 i moved back from winchester as was without a job, for pride reasons i didnt sign on for 6 month, then signed on for 4 months until i got a job. that was some 22 years ago.

its unfortunate that some people lose their job and have to sign on for a period of time, its not nice and i wouldnt wish it on anyone, but why people would want to be on the dole is beyond me..
