Beef mini chips, I used to get boxes of these from a mate who worked at KP. £3 a box! You can still get them on Ebay : http://www.ebay.co.u...=item27bfcce45a

Bit pricey but still about the same as the corner shop.

My mum worked at united biscuits in grimsby, she use to bring home all the broken biscuits and she also got alot of KP stuff in the staff shop. As a bit of a rebel I use to scale 2 6ft tall metal spiked railongs to go raid the bins with my friends. We got crisps, biscuits all sorts and it was good stuff too it was all in packets but light or heavy packs that get blown off the line. It was great as we lives just 300 feet away from the factory and we could smell what crisps or biscuits they was making. Only bad thing was my mum had to drive about 4 miles to go to work even tho it was only 300ft away :(
This is what was the KP united biscuits factory. Now it's a plastic factory and i've been told the smell that comes from it is nasty.

Smiths Salt n Shake crisps...now that im older i think to myself....whats the point of them ??

I mean wouldnt you just buy ready salted crisps .. or you could leave them plain i spose..but who likes plain crisps..with no flavour whatsoever...

Dont get me wrong...as a kid i loved them..thought it was really cool putting the salt in and shaking them about..but as an adult , the concept dosent really make sense.
Mmmmmm...Sandy ive 'ad her ye know. :)

Wheelz were sold by Kwik save if I remember rightly, there used to be a squirrel on the bag holding one. I remember my mam getting them with Gee bee dilute lemon and lime. About 30p for 2 litres of it. (Before Kwik save it was Frankie dees!)

They still have the old Meredith and Drew (Later United Biscuits / KP's)place, up in Ashby-de-zouch, Leicester, and like yourself, used to get loads from there.

"Together these four bakeries became the foundation of the UB Brands division of the 1980s. Two acquisitions, in 1967 and 1968, respectively, formed the basis of the KP division: Meredith and Drew, a biscuit and crisp (potato chip) manufacturer since 1830, and Kenyon Sons and Craven Ltd., Europe's largest nut processor, dating back to 1891"
