what gets to me are football clubs, all the time they are buying/selling players for like 5million and they dont seem to suffer any debt afterwards. These players also get about £20,000 a week. Blimey, If there is so much money in the football world then why cant the goverment start sucking a few bob from them instead of taxing/sponging off the poor. these players only work 90 minutes a week, compared to alot of people including myself that have had to work 60/70 hours a week at times just for a poxy £500.

3 points on that...
Yes they may well be overpaid (our opinion)...google the '66 team (who won the World Cup) and what their wage were..
But working for 90 minutes, thats pure ignorance!....do they never train?
Of course they also pay taxes!....at the same rates as in any other business.

To be fair, they work a bit more than 90 mins per week with the training etc that they do. Not that they are not lavishly paid for that of course. Sadly, even if the government did raise some sort of levy on football clubs it would not bring in a great deal of cash nationally. The thing is, there's a lot more poor people than rich people so taxing the poor is somewhat more profitable...

Danny the footballers point is a bit ridiculous!!! There was an article in the paper just last year about players wages one player for man city paid almost £2 million in tax in a year, the clubs are also taxed on profits too so they are already an income stream. Football has a lot of money in it because of its market value. The main premier league domestic rights sold for in excess of £1 billion at the last tender. This is certain to go UP on the next set. It is a great commercial commodity and if you are in the business you will want a cut of that big cake!!! Also bear in mind that apart from the select few who go onto big media jobs a footballers career is a very short one!!! So fill your bucket whilst its in the well etc lol

Talkin about ignorance our lovely government haven,t listened to its people much they scrap the petrol rise in jan only for it to go up by another 2p on top of the 3p rise in aug 2012, they froze the child tax or reduced it for those who work, the pensioners Have a fiver a week rise which is good only to be told that if your around 52yrs old you,ll have to Work till 67, 8yrs earlier than planned. And now on to the doley,s, I mean the ones who haven,t or aren,t ever gonna work a day in their lives their out celebrating this morning down the pub, bookies or arcades cause cameron has been "shakin that tin" again and awarded them with an extra 5% dole money whilst the public sector Workers get a measely 1% that,ll reduce the dole queue not!! Anyway as labour once said "things can only get better". Can They!!!
Consider this eloquent quote from Dr Adrian Rogers
"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."
So true
